Atonement

My High Priest
has made atonement

on the altar
of the cross

His blood shed
for my sins

forgiven
at His cost.

**********

Lord, thank You for being the atonement for my sin and forgiving me.

“So the priest shall make atonement for [the sin of] the people, and they will be forgiven.” Leviticus 4:20 AMP

Offerings

Speak to the children
and say to them

bring Me an offering
of what you have

and it will be found
acceptable

for atonement’s been made
on your behalf.

***********

Lord, thank you for being the ultimate perfect sacrifice for my sins. Please help me to daily give You all I am and have.

***********

“The LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying,”

“Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘When any one of you brings an offering to the LORD, you shall bring your offering of [domestic] animals from the herd (cattle, oxen) or from the flock (sheep, goats).’ “

“He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering [transferring symbolically his guilt to the sacrifice], that it may be accepted for him to make atonement on his behalf. [Heb.13:15,16 ; 1Peter 1:2].

Atonement

The altar has
been purified
by My
sacrifice

making you
acceptable
forever
in My sight.

You establish my atonement.

” ‘Seven days they shall make atonement for the altar and purify it, and so consecrate it. When these days are over it shall be, on the eighth day and thereafter, that the priests shall offer your burnt offerings and your peace offerings on the altar; and I will accept you,’ says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 43:26,27 NKJV

Providing Atonement

“For a multitude of the people, many from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, ‘May the good LORD provide atonement for everyone

who prepares his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he is not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.”  2 Chronicles 30:18-19

Indeed, God did provide atonement  for everyone . . . through Jesus.

Thank You Lord, for cleansing us so we can come to You forever.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Purification

home use pressure washer – wikipedia

I love You, Lord Jesus
please take away my sins

I long to be with You
purified of them

only You can atone for me
cleanse me and set me free

I love You, Lord Jesus
heal my iniquity.

Found Slain

“If anyone is found slain, lying in the field in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who killed him . . .” Deuteronomy 21:1
“‘Provide atonement, O Lord, for Your people Israel, whom You have redeemed and do not lay innocent blood to the charge of Your people Israel.’ And atonement shall be provided on their behalf for the blood.” Deuteronomy 21:8
“So you shall put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 21:9

God alone is the Judge of His people Israel, whom He has redeemed and made atonement for.

Thank you Lord, for being the atonement for us all. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Known

A man is found dead
out lying in a field

no one knows what happened
or by whom he was killed

but Jesus has seen it
Jesus has heard

and Jesus has come
to take away the guilt of this world.

Atonement

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.” Leviticus 17:11

This chapter in Leviticus is dedicated to the sanctity of the blood. The letting of blood was to be taken seriously and always brought before God.

Thank You, Jesus, for our atoned lives are made possible by Your blood. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Life In The Blood

Would I obtain a means
and keep it all to myself
not offering it to You, Lord
or anyone else,
when my life is so tied to
the blood that You spilled
on the altar of Your cross
my sin’s atonement, fulfilled.

(Really, the scripture for this one was so meaningful that I think it could’ve / should’ve stood on its own! Has a verse or portion of scripture held a strong specific meaning for you lately?)

No More, No Less

“The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when you give an offering to the Lord, to make atonement for yourselves.”  Exodus 30:15

Whether we are millionaires or among the homeless, have lived a “good life” or are in prison, the cost of our atonement is all the same.  And it’s been prepaid by Jesus on the cross at Calvary.

Thank You, Lord, for paying the price for me.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Prepaid

I am so blessed, Lord
that You have died for me
but there are still others
who don’t know and can’t see
they don’t have to strive their whole life
in order to be free,
You have paid for us all
while nailed upon that tree.
