Ask

 

If we need wisdom
we can ask

for our Father
freely gives it

and there’s no shame
for the fact

only thanks
as we receive it.

Lord, I need Your wisdom each and everyday. Help me remember to simply ask.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5 NKJV

Ask
it will be given

seek
and you will find

knock
and it will be opened

by My Holy
Spirit design.

You establish my asking, seeking, and knocking.

” ‘So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.’ ” Luke 11:9,13 NKJV

Ask of Me
and I will give to you

seek Me
and you will find

knock and
watch Me open

doors of
every kind.

You establish answers to my questions.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7,8 NKJV

A Double Portion

“And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”  And Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”  2 Kings 2:9

Jesus told His disciples “to wait for the Promise of the Father, ‘which,’ He said, ‘you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.’”  Acts 1:4-5

Lord, we come to You and ask to be filled with your Holy Spirit today . . .even a double portion.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Ask!

Please just come
and do not be afraid
to ask
for what you want.

I love you
and give good gifts
to all who do not fear
and come.
