Maintained

 

I’ll maintain your cause
when you’re afflicted
and bring justice
when you’re poor

and you shall dwell
in My presence
and give thanks
forevermore.

A laid down life has a caring and just God.

“I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted and justice for the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.” Psalm 140:12,13 NKJV

The Plowers

“Many a time they have afflicted me
from my youth;
Yet they have not prevailed against
me.
The plowers plowed on my back;
They made their furrows long.”Psalm 129:2-3

The farmers here have begun making long furrows.

Lord, help us trust our deep afflicted places to you, that You may plant good in them.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

He Prevails

yet somehow
they have failed

though pushed down
and plowed long

His will for us
prevails.
