His Hand

I know all
about you
and am with you
wherever you go

having covered you in
your mother’s womb
My hand will lead
you home.

A laid down life has God’s hand upon it.

“LORD, You have searched me and known me. You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. For You have formed my inward parts; You have covered me in my mother’s womb. Lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:1,5,13,24 NKJV

Revived

Though you walk
in the midst of trouble
I will revive you
and stretch out My hand

perfecting all
that concerns you
never forsaking
the work I began.

A laid down life will be revived.

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands.” Psalm 138:7,8 NKJV

When Weeping

When you weep
and lay down your harp
thinking your song
is gone

know these feelings
will not last
for you’re with Me
where you belong.

A laid down life will yet rise and sing.

“By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept when we remembered Zion. We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst of it. How shall we sing the LORD’s song in a foreign land?” Psalm 137:1,2,4 NKJV

Passing Through

You will not
be overcome
by what you’re
passing through

for My mercy
endures forever
and I
will rescue you.

A laid down life passes through the midst.

“Oh give thanks to the LORD. For He is good! For His mercy endures forever. To Him who divided the Red Sea in two, and made Israel pass through the midst of it. Who remembered us in our lowly state and rescued us from our enemies. Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 136:1,13,14,23,24,26 NKJV

It Is Good

It is good
to praise My name
to bless Me
and to sing

for I am great
above all gods
your Savior, Lord
and King.

A laid down life has a great God.

“Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant. For I know that the LORD is great, and our LORD is above all gods. You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!” Psalm 135:3,5,20 NKJV

Unity

How good it is
to dwell in unity
to raise your hands
and bless your Lord

its like precious oil
running down upon you
like dew descending
forevermore.

A laid down life is united with God and His people.

“Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. It is like the precious oil upon the head , running down on the bead, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing – life forevermore.” Psalm 133:1,2,3. NKJV

Desired

Just as I
chose Zion
now I also
desire you

to be clothed in My
salvation and joy
that will show through
all you do.

A laid down life is desired by God.

“For Your servant David’s sake, do not turn away the face of Your Anointed. For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation : ‘This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it’. I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.” Psalm 132:10,13,14,16 NKJV

Calmed

Lord, let my heart not be haughty
nor my eyes lofty
so I don’t concern myself
with the profound

but calm my soul
and keep it quiet
so that my hope
in You alone is found.

A laid down life has a calmed soul.

“Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty, neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me. Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forever.” Psalm 131:1,2,3 NKJV

Redemption

Wait for Me
oh let your soul wait
and in My word
do hope

for with Me is mercy
and forgiveness
from which
redemption flows.

A laid down life has hope.

“But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption.” Psalm 130:4,5,7 NKJV

Build

Do not build your house
apart from Me
for your labor will be
in vain

but let whatever you do
be of My will
and to the glory of
My name.

A laid down life builds with God.

“Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.” Psalm 127:1,2 NKJV
