There Is A Holy Spirit

source – Wikipedia

“And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples
he said to them, ‘Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?’ And they said to him, ‘We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.’ ”  Acts 19:1-2 NKJV

There are other ‘spirits’ , but only one Holy Spirit.

Thank You, Lord , for Your Holy Spirit. And here is a simple poem . . .

There is
a Holy Spirit

who always
testifies

to the
glory of God

and His Son
Jesus Christ.

God bless you with His Holy Spirit!

Reasoning

source – Wikipedia

“And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.”  Acts 18:4 NKJV

We have to be reasonable in order to reason.

Thank You, Lord, for giving us every reason to believe You and persuade others to as well.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Lord, help us
reason
and patiently
persuade

as we
testify
that You are
the Way.

God bless you as you reason with others today!

In You
we move and breathe

in You
we are

Listening

source – Wikipedia

“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” Acts 16:25 NKJV

What a wonderful thing to hear while in prison.

Thank You, Lord, for helping us pray and praise during our hardest times.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Some are watching
some are listening
some are desperate
to know

who is this God
that we pray to
and why do we
love Him so.

God bless you as you pray today!

Through His Grace

“Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?”  Acts 15:10 NKJV
“But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”  Acts 15:11 NKJV

Only Jesus saves.

Thank You, Lord, for Your saving grace.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

No more burdens
must we bear

from heavy yokes
we are spared

for now we trust
and have faith

that only by Jesus
are we saved.

God bless you and save you today!

Commending

source – Wikipedia

“So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.”  Acts 14:23 NKJV

Commend means to put in the care of another; to entrust. (Webster’s New World Dictionary)

Thank You , Lord, for being so trustworthy. And here’s a simple poem . . .

We can only do
what we can do

for it’s never really
about us

giving others
to the Lord

trusting in the grace
of Jesus.

God bless you as you commend someone to Him today!

“As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ ” Acts 13:2 NKJV

‘Separate’ can sound a little sad and scary to me.

Thank You, Lord, for separating us unto Yourself.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Let us be
called out
to a work we
have not known

separated
unto Him
covered, kept
and grown.

God bless you as you are separated unto Him today.

I am encouraged
and made glad

to continue with
purpose of heart

on this path
for me You have.

grew and multiplied
and still multiplies
and grows

ever present
and unrelenting
seeking and drawing
hearts and souls.
