Clothed

 

I shall clothe you
with strength and honor
and when you open
your mouth

it will be in wisdom
and on your tongue
the law of kindness
will come out.

A laid down life is clothed with strength and honor from God.

“Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.” Proverbs 31:25,26 NKJV

Confessing

 

Do not try
to cover your sins
but come and
bring them to Me

turning away
from whatever it is
finding forgiveness
and mercy.

A laid down life confesses sin.

“He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13 NKJV

You Shall Have Enough

 

Earthly riches
are not forever
and a man made crown
endures just so long

but My presence
is for now and always
and My provision
goes on and on.

A laid down life has enough.

“Be diligent to know the state of your fields, and attend to your herds; for riches are not forever, nor does a crown endure to all generations. The lambs will provide your clothing, and the goats the price of a field; you shall have enough goats milk for your food, for the food of your household, and the nourishment of your maidservants.” Proverbs 27:23,24,26,27 NKJV

Strife

 

Do not be quick
to tell tales
that only add
to strife

but carefully
choose your words
so that they’re full
of life.

A laid down life kindles life.

“Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no tale bearer, strife ceases. As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindle strife. The words of a tale bearer are like tasty triffles, and they go down into the inmost body.” Proverbs 26:20,21,22 NKJV

With God

 

I am
the Lord your God
the great
I AM

no wisdom
or counsel against Me
will ever be able
to stand.

A laid down life stands with God.

“There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the LORD.” Proverbs 21:30 NKJV

Searching

 

Place your heart
in My hands
that I may turn
and weigh it

searching all
the inner depths
shining My life
within it.

A laid down life’s heart is in God’s hand.

“The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all the inner depths of his heart. The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart.” Proverbs 20:27 and 21:1,2 NKJV

Happiness

 

 

Commit
yourself to Me
so your thoughts
can be established

and you will find
trusting Me
to be the root of your
happiness.

A laid down life’s thoughts are established.

“Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established. He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.” Proverbs 16:3,20 NKJV

Watching

 

I am watching
always watching
and see
the good you do

turning away wrath
with soft answers
and a pure
heart too.

A laid down life is watched by God.

“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. The words of the pure are pleasant. The heart of the righteous studies how to answer.” Proverbs 15:1,3,26,28 NKJV

Build Your House

 

Blessed are you
as you build your home
with love
and understanding

for your family always
finds peace there
and shelter from
the world’s clamoring.

A laid down life makes their house a home.

“Every wise woman builds her house , but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” Proverbs 14:1 NKJV

His Delight

 

I delight in
your honesty
and by truth
you shall be set

established forever
and satisfied by
the fruit of
your lips.

A laid down life is established forever.

“A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him. The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who deal truthfully are His delight.” Proverbs 12:14,19,22 NKJV
