The Price Of Redemption

The price
of our redemption

God’s own
precious Son

the firstborn
of His Holy Spirit

the cost –
eternity won.

**********

“And Moses gave their redemption money to Aaron and his sons, according to the word of the LORD commanded Moses.”

Numbers 3:51. NKJV

Camp Around

The tribes of Israel
camped around

the tabernacle of
meeting

as we too
must keep you as

the center of our
everything.

“. . .the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony . . .”

All Who Are Able

As then
they were numbered

as all who could go
to war

we still have
spiritual battles

to be counted on
for.

**********

“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers houses, according to the number of names, every male individually,”

“from twenty years old and above – all who are able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their armies.”

Numbers 1:2,3. NKJV

Inheritance Keepers

“So the inheritance of the children of Israel shall not change hands from tribe to tribe, for everyone of the children of Israel shall keep the inheritance of the tribe of the fathers.” Numbers 36:7

Those leaving behind an inheritance must be concerned about it going into the right hands and being handled rightly.

Thank You, Father, for the inheritance we all receive through Jesus Christ Your Son. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Given By God

There’s an inheritance
I received from my Father

a place of peace and rest
when I believed

but I cannot give
it to another

each child must come
individually.

This is the last post from Numbers. Thank you so much for helping and supporting me through it all! Tomorrow we’re headed back to the New Testament for the Gospel According to Luke.

Seeking Refuge

“But if the manslayer at any time goes outside the limits of the city of refuge where he fled,
and the avenger of blood finds him outside the limits of his city of refuge, and the avenger kills the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood because he should have remained in his city of refuge . . .” Numbers 35:26-28

Six cities of refuge were provided for those who accidentally killed someone. If they didn’t seek refuge there, then they would be in danger of being killed as well.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Refuge and High Tower, the only place where I am safe and saved from the death of my sins. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Safe Refuge

As hungry deer
walk the streets at midnight
and the one-eared cat
nervously eats
I run to You
for safe refuge
staying within the sound
of Your heart’s beat.

Boundaries

“Command the children of Israel and say to them, ‘When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance – the land of Canaan to its boundaries’.” Numbers 34:2

Neighbors thought we had an invisible fence for our dog. But, we didn’t. My husband trained her to know the boundaries of the yard and to stay within them.

Thank You, Lord, for Your invisible Holy Spirit fence that lets us know when we cross the line. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Staying Within

We slip
towards the edge
and eye-ball
the other side,
but Love
draws us back
where grace
and mercy thrive.

Starting Points

“Now Moses wrote down these starting points of their journeys at the command of the Lord.” Numbers 33:2

Following this is a list of all the places the children of Israel started from and traveled to. It reminds me of all my journals/notebooks. Each one I pick up and look into reveals a different place I have been on my journey with Him.

Thank You, Lord, for recording Your journey of love for us, from the first word of Genesis to The Revelation’s last. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Our Journey

In order to make a journey
we must have a starting point
a place at which we decide
it’s time to move on from.

Then no matter the size of our steps
if they go sideways, even backwards too
we can always trace our life’s path
on its way home with You.

A Part of the Whole

“Therefore they said, ‘If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession, and do not take us over the Jordan’.
And Moses said to the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, ‘Shall your brethren go to war while you sit here?’
‘Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Lord has given them’.” Numbers 32:5-7

The families of Gad and Reuben saw where they needed to be, as individuals. Moses saw and thought of the children of Israel as a whole.

Lord, thank You that whatever plans You have for me will encourage others as well. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Crossing Jordan

I have needs
I know You see them

and You see
my brother’s too

help me cross
the Jordan for him

knowing I’ll
be filled by You.

None Missing

“Then the officers who were over thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses;
and they said to Moses, ‘Your servants have taken a count of the men of war who are under our command, and not a man of us is missing.'” Numbers 31:48-49

Some day we’ll be saying the same thing, as we gather in heaven.

Thank You Lord, for keeping us forever in Your care, watching over us and not allowing any to be snatched away. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Worth It

The day’s been tough
the hour long
the struggles more
like war,
what a comfort
to look around
and see all here
and worth fighting for.
