A Light

When I fall
by Your grace
I will arise
again

and when darkness comes
You are my light
shining ever
within.

**********

You are with me and bring me light and righteousness.

**********

“Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.”

Micah 7:8 NKJV

What Is Good

I brought you up
and ransomed you

remember what
I’ve done

walking humbly
with Me

loving justice and
compassion.

**********

I remember what You have done, for You are with me.

***********

“For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, I redeemed you from the house of bondage; and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.”

“O My people, remember now what Balak King of Moab counseled, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, from Acacia Grove to Gilgal, that you may know the righteousness of the LORD.”

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”

This One Is Peace

We shall abide
in His greatness

for this One is
our peace

able to stand
and feed His flock

in strength and
majesty.

**********

You who are peace and great to the ends of the earth are with me.

**********

“And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God; and they shall abide, for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth; and this One shall be peace.”

The Lord’s Reign

Oh You shall be
lifted up

exalted above
every hill

all shall come
to learn Your ways

and walk in
Your will.

**********

You are with me and will be forever exalted.

**********

“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow to it.”

“Many nations shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.’ “.

Twists

Let me not practice
ignore or tolerate

anything in me
that’s not of You

keeping to
Your word and Your way

not twisting and turning
the Truth.

**********

I can respond with truth and love, for You are with me.

**********

“And I said. ‘Hear now, heads of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel
Is it not for you to know and administer justice?’ “

“Then they will cry to the Lord, but He will not answer them; instead, He will even hide His face from them at that time [withholding His mercy] because they have practiced and tolerated and ignored evil acts.”

“Now hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who hate and reject justice and twist everything that is straight . . .”

My Words Do Good

Your word always
always does good

Your judgements
are forever true

it is not You who
antagonize us

but we in deep
deep need of You.

***********

You are with me and Your word does good in my life.

**********

” ‘Do not speak out,’ so they speak out. But if they do not speak out concerning these things, reproaches will not be turned back.”

“Is it being said, O house of Jacob;
‘Is the Soirit of the LORD impatient?
Or are these [prophesied judgements] His doings?’
Do not My words do good
To the one walking uprightly?”

“But lately My people have stood up as an enemy [and have made Me their antagonist].”

Oh Little Town

Before the world began
You had a plan
to enter in through
Bethlehem.

Though small and obscure
it’s where Peace touched the world
and all exiles were given
a home land.

*********

You establish the importance of small things.

**********

“You, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
are only a small village among all the people
of Judah.
Yet a ruler of Israel,
whose origins are from the distant past,
will come from you on My behalf.
The people of Israel will be abandoned to their enemies
until the woman in labor gives birth.
Then at last his fellow countrymen
will return from exile to their own land.
And he will stand to lead his flock with the
Lord’s strength,
in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God.
Then his people will live there undisturbed,
for he will be highly honored around the world.
And he will be the source of peace.”

Micah 5:2-5

When I Fall

“When I fall, I will arise,
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light to me.”   Micah 7:8 NKJV

When I fall and/or sit in darkness, the temptation is to think it is a permanent place.

Thank You, Jesus, for rising out of that dark tomb and reminding me that things aren’t always as they seem, because You are here.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Though I sit
in the darkness
it is Your light
I will yet see

and when I walk
through the valley
it’s under Your shadow
that I’ll be.

God bless you as you arise with Him today!

“How Have I Wearied You?”

“Oh My people, what have I done to you?
And how have I wearied you?
Testify against Me.”  Micah 6:3

“For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt,
I redeemed you from the house of bondage;
And I sent before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam.”  Micah 6:4 NKJV

If I feel weary, it’s time to turn to God.

Thank You, Lord, for delivering me out of wearisome places and giving me rest.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

If I’m
feeling weary
and the opposite
of blessed

let me turn
to You, Lord
for deliverance
and rest.

God bless you and give you rest!

This One

“And He shall stand and feed His flock
In the strength of the Lord,
In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God;
And they shall abide,
For now He shall be great
To the ends of the earth,
And this One shall be peace.”  Micah 5:4

I have been extra hungry lately.

Thank You, Jesus, for feeding me in the strength and majesty of Your name.  And here’s a simple poem  . . .

And He shall stand
and feed His flock
in the majesty and greatness
of the Lord.

And they shall abide
in His presence
filled with peace
and of One accord.

God bless you as He feeds you today!
