Miracles

With child of
the Holy Spirit
before she was
even wed

Joseph thought
to put Mary off
but took her as wife
instead.

A laid down life witnesses miracles.

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream , saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.’

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, ‘God with us.’

Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called Hismname JESUS.” Matthew 1:18-25 NKJV

one more cinch

Horses instinctively puff out their bellies when getting saddled.

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden light.”  Matthew 11:29-30. NKJV

A little glitter goes a long way.

“You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.”  Matthew 5:14-15 NKJV

Before You

wikipedia.com

“And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him.  Behold, I have told you.”  Matthew 28:7

Jesus didn’t tell them to go some place He wasn’t going to be.

Thank You, Lord, for going before us today.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

I will go
before you

and will make
a way

for you
to follow Me

and do
as I say.

God bless you as He goes before you today!

Save Yourself

“Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left.

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads

and saying, ‘You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself!  If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.’ ”  Matthew 27:38-40 NKJV

The temptation was great for Jesus to save Himself . .. and for us to save ourselves too.

Thank You, Lord, for dying and rising again according to God’s will and plan.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

“Save yourself”
temptation prods
“take heed
and don’t delay.”

But One calls me
to die to self
and live with Him
this day.

God bless you as you let Him do the saving today!

Pour It On

“And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,
a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table.
But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, ‘To what purpose is this waste?'”  Matthew 26:6-8

For some reason, I thought it was the scribes and Pharisees who were indignant. . .not His own disciples.

Thank You, Lord, for this woman and all those who pour out extravagant costly love upon You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

What good is
what I treasure

if I keep it
apart from You?

Let me pour out
my heart, my love

all my hands hold
unto You.

God bless you as you pour out your love on Him today!

To Each Accordingly

“And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability, and immediately he went on a journey.”  Matthew 25:15

The servants who doubled their talents each heard, “Well done good and faithful servant!”

Thank You, Lord, for being equally pleased with our different abilities.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

According to my
abilities

You have
given me

that I might serve
and bless You

entering Joy
eternally.

God bless you as you hear ‘Well done!’ today!

Cold Love

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”  Matthew 24:12

Lawlessness exhibits no regard for love.

Thank You, Lord, for Your love that never grows cold.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Please grow in me
a love

from a spark
into a flame

from a flame
into a fire

that cannot
be contained.

God bless you as you love Him and others today!

Inside The Cup

“Blind Pharisees, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.”  Matthew 23:26

One of the first things Jesus addressed in me was my thought life.

Thank You, Lord, for caring more about what is going on inside of me than how I look to others.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

How I look
on the inside

my thoughts
and my beliefs

matters more
than the outside

so come change
and cleanse me please.

God bless you inside and out!

Mistaken

“Jesus answered and said to them, ‘You are mistaken , not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.’ ”  Matthew 22:29

So much room for error, especially apart from God.

Thank You, Lord, for making known to us Your Word and Your power.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Please give to me
a  revelation

of Your word
and power

that I may know
Your heart, oh Lord

and understand
Your desire.

God bless you as He makes Himself known to you today!
