Stone Roller

“And they said among themselves, ‘Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?'” Mark 16:3

The women just wanted to get to Jesus.

Thank You, Lord, for clearing a way for us to come to You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Oh Lord
please roll away
whatever it
may be

that ever keeps me
from believing
You are always here
with me.

God bless you as you come to Him today.

Answering Nothing

“Then Pilate asked Him again, saying, ‘Do You answer nothing? See how many things they testify against You?”  Mark 15:4

“But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marveled.” Mark 15:5

Lies and accusations can steal our peace, time and energy.

Thank You, Lord, for being the truth we can respond to. And here’s a simple poem . . .

So many lies and accusations

are spoken and inferred

but I don’t have to worry

or give back a single word

for I have a Good Shepherd

who speaks Truth to me each day

to Him I will respond

listen and obey.

God bless you as He speaks Truth to you today!

A Good Work

“But Jesus said, ‘Let her alone. Why do you trouble her?  She has done a good work for me’.”  Mark 14:6

“She has done what she could.”  Mark 14:8

It seems like there is always pressure to do more, to be more.

Thank You, Lord, for seeing the good in us doing what we can.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

They were offended

at the woman

who poured the spikenard

on You

but You were blessed

and embraced her

knowing she did what

she could do.

God bless you as you do what you can today!

Watch

“It is like a man going into a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the door keeper to watch.” Mark 13:34 NKJV

“Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming . . .” Mark 13:35 NKJV

“And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” Mark 13:37 NKJV

I can learn about watching from dogs as they look so diligently and eagerly for their master’s return.

Thank You, Lord, for the promise of Your return. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Please help me watch
and not grow weary

to look
and not yet faint

as the signs
of the time unravel

and Your coming glory
shines great.

God bless you as you watch!

God of the Living

“He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living.”  Mark 12:27 NKJV

We don’t have to wait until we die to be with God.

Thank You, Lord, for being my now and forever God.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

You are God
of the living
and not the God
of the dead

for with You
we have eternal life
that starts now
and never ends.

God bless your life in Him today!

No Record

index blank page

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.”  Mark 11:25 NKJV

Forgiveness is such a big part of our lives.

Thank You, Lord, for healing us and helping us to forgive.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Lord please teach me
to forgive others
the way You
forgive me

so completely
and deeply
that there’s no record
or memory.

God bless you as you forgive someone today!

Receiving Sight

“And Jesus answered and said to him, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’  The blind man said to Him, ‘Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.'”  Mark 10:51 NKJV

This man knew exactly what he wanted Jesus to do for him.

Thank You, Lord, for letting us ask of You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

As blind Bartimaeus
asked Jesus
that he may
receive his sight

I, too, need eyes
to see with
to walk in
Your love and light.

God bless all you receive from Him today!

Seasoned

“For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.”  Mark 9:49 NKJV

Jesus says ‘everyone’.

Thank You, Lord, for knowing how to bring out the best in us.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Every sacrifice flavored
with His salt

and every life touched
by His fire

no better way to showcase
our heart’s One

and only
true desire.

God bless you as He seasons you today!

Who Am I?

CompositeJesus

” . . .Who do men say that I am? ”  Mark 8:27 NKJV

“And they answered, ‘John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.’ ”  Mark 8:28  NKJV

“He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ ”  Mark 8:29

It’s good for me to listen and read who others say He is.

Thank You, Lord, that I can also know who You are for myself.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

You do
all things well

and are here
for everyone

being who we need
at any given moment

Healer, Savior, Friend
and Christ the Son.

God bless you as He reveals Himself to you today!

Traditions

IMG_20140421_195126-150x150 rules

“For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men . . .”  Mark 7:8 NKJV

Traditions can seem like commandments.

Thank You, Lord, for Your commandments which take precedence over all.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

There are laws
we must adhere to

there are rules
we need apply

but Your commandments
take precedence

even if traditions
get put aside.

God bless you as you obey His commandments today!
