Fruit Of Righteousness

 

The fruit of righteousness
is sown in peace

by those who make
peace too

born of His wisdom
pure and gentle

full of mercy
through and through.

Lord, I desire Your righteousness to be sown in me and bear fruit, by the wisdom that only can come from You.

“But where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing will be there.”

“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy, and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”

Blessing And Cursing

 

We bless God
and curse men

who were made in
the image of Him

blessing and cursing
from the same mouth

needs forgiveness
and His healing.

Lord, help me be more and more aware of what comes out of my mouth, waiting before I speak. I desire to bless with my words or not talk at all.

Working Together

 

Faith without works
is not alive

the two must be
together

just as Abraham
offered his son

Isaac
upon the altar.

Lord Jesus, I desire the faith to not only believe, but to act on those beliefs.

“Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?”

“Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?”

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

Mercy Triumphs

 

Judgement is
without mercy

to the one who has
shown none

but mercy triumphs
over judgement

as we love and follow
the Son.

Lord Jesus, I desire to show mercy to others on a daily basis, instead of judgement.

Chosen

 

God has chosen
the poor of this world

to be rich
in faith

making them
heirs of the kingdom

loving Him and filled
with grace.

Lord, I want to be rich in faith and not in the things of this world. Please help me see with impartial eyes.

Doers Of The Word

 

Let us receive
the Word of God

which is able to save
our souls

and be doers
not just hearers

everywhere
we go.

Lord, I want Your word to have its way in me, changing how I think and also then my actions and behaviors. I love You and thank You, Jesus.

Swift To Hear

 

Oh Lord, may we all
be quick to hear

but not so fast
to speak

and even slower
to show anger

for its Your righteousness
we seek.

Lord, I want to listen much more than I talk, and ask that anger be an emotion that I rarely rise to.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” James 1:19-20. NKJV

Every Good Gift

 

Every good
and perfect gift

is
from above

coming down
from the Father

with His
steadfast love.

Lord, I give You glory and thanks for every good gift I have ever seen or received.

If we need wisdom
we can ask

for our Father
freely gives it

and there’s no shame
for the fact

only thanks
as we receive it.
