I Will Bless You

Consider now
from this time forward

how it has been
and now will be

how I will send you
blessing upon blessing

when you turn and walk
close with Me.

**********

You are with me and will bless me.

**********

“Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid – consider it:”

“Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day forward I will bless you.”

Haggai 2:18,19 NKJV

Former And Latter

If what you see
doesn’t measure up

to how things used
to be

stay brave and keep
moving on

into My greater
glory.

**********

You are with me and change what I see.

**********

” ‘Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing?’ “

” ‘Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the LORD; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the LORD, ‘and work, for I am with you,’ says the LORD of hosts.”

” ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.”

Think It Over

Consider your ways
reflect on your conduct

where your time and
energy’s spent

then listen to Me
for I will be with you

making sure your efforts
are blessed.

**********

You are with me so I desire what You desire.

**********

” ‘Think it over,’ says the Lord of Hosts. ‘Consider how you have acted, and what has happened as a result!’ “

“You hope for much but get so little. And when you bring it home, I blow it away – it doesn’t last at all. Why? Because My temple lies in ruins and you don’t care. Your only concern is your own fine homes.”

“Then Zerubbabel (son of She-alti-el), the governor of Judah, and Joshua (son of Jisedech), the High Priest, and the few people remaining in the land obeyed Haggai’s message from the Lord their God; they began to worship Him in earnest.”

“Then the Lord told them (again sending the message through Haggai, His messenger), ‘I am with you, I will bless you.’ “

“And the Lord gave them a desire to rebuild His Temple . . .”

From This Day Forward

Pomegranate_DSW

“Is the seed still in the barn?  As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit.  But from this day forward I will bless you.”  Haggai 2:19

The people had suffered through drought, blight, mildew and hail.

Thank You, Lord, for helping us move forward into Your blessings as we turn to You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Seems like it’s been
a tough year here

not much planted
not much fruit

oh let me always
turn forward with You, Lord

watching for the blessings
of new beginnings and shoots.

God bless you from this day forward!

In Ruins

“You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the LORD of hosts. “Because of My house that is in ruins,  while every one of you runs to his own house.”  Haggai 1:9

Sometimes it seems counter productive to run to God and spend my time with Him.

Thank You, Lord, for the beautiful way You are with us and work in our lives as we come to You and put You first.  And here’s a simple poem. . .

I can run to my own house
to my friends and family

build upon those relationships
and all I feel and see

nothing really wrong with that
but there will remain a drought in me

until I come to You and put You first
worshiping and glorifying Thee.

God bless you as you run to Him today!
