Remember Me

 

Remember Me now
as your Creator
before your days are done
on this earth

letting My words be
as well driven nails
trusting Me more
than your works.

A laid down life is created by God and returns to God.

“Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed. . .Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars like well-driven nails, given by one Shepherd. For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Ecclesiates 12:6,7,11,14 NKJV

What To Do

 

Whatever your hands
find to do
do with all
your might

and I will keep
supplying you
with what is good
and right.

A laid down life is given good things to do.

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.” Ecclesiates 9:10 NKJV

Stay

 

Stay
awhile with Me
and good will
come from it

My word
for your day
the power of
My Spirit.

A laid down life is wanted in God’s presence.

“Keep the king’s commandment for the sake of your oath to God. Do not be hasty to go from his presence. Where the word of a king is, there is power.” Ecclesiates 8:2,3,4 NKJV

Not Everything

 

Don’t take to heart
everything
that you hear
people say

remembering your lips
also
have at times
strayed.

A laid down life holds the words of others lightly.

“Also do not take to heart everything people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you. For many times, also, your own heart has known that even you have cursed others.” Ecclesiates 7:21,22 NKJV

Joyfully Busy

 

I will keep
you busy
with the joy
of your heart

that you may
dwell in peace
and from it
never part.

A laid down life is joyfully busy.

“For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.” Ecclesiates 5:20 NKJV

Everything Beautiful

 

I have placed eternity
in your heart
making beauty
in its time

and no one can add
or take from this
lasting work
of Mine.

A laid down life has eternity in its heart.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts . . . I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it.” Ecclesiates 3:11,14 NKJV

Eat and Drink

 

Rejoice for
your food and drink
and for the work
you do

for it all comes
from My hand
a gift from Me
to you.

A laid down life enjoys what God gives.

“There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor; this also, I saw, was from the hand of God.” Ecclesiates 2:24 NKJV

Grief and Sorrow

 

Do not seek wisdom
just to be wise
or knowledge
to be smart

but let Me guide you
in all these things
adding understanding
to your heart.

A laid down life is not lived in vain

“For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.” Ecclesiates 1:18 NKJV
