Blameless

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ”

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”   1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

I get blamed a lot.  And when someone isn’t blaming me, I go ahead and blame myself.

Lord, it’s hard for me to imagine being blameless, and the tears flow, knowing that I will be . . .You will see to it.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Faithful To Do It

There is complete peace
in sanctification

being made whole
and blameless through You

preserving us
body, soul and spirit

something only You
can faithfully do.

Abounding More and More

“Finally then brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God .. .”  1 Thessalonians 4:1

To abound more and more sounds wonderful.

Lord, we thank You and praise You that we can never come to the end of You.  There is always more.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

An Abounding Walk

Aub’s pine tree that almost died, but is starting to abound more and more!

Oh to abound
more and more and more

in the work of You
our Holy, Holy Lord

to walk in such a way
that we please You everyday

this is what we pray
oh Holy, Holy Lord.

Affliction Appointments

“. . .that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.”  1 Thessalonians 3:3

We usually try to keep all our appointments.

Lord, we desire to trust You during times of appointed afflictions.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Appointed

What I’m going through today
You will use in my tomorrows
and though I be abased
I need not be ashamed

for this time by You
has been appointed
planned and watched over
without blame.

His Life and Ours

“So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.”  1 Thessalonians 2:8

I find it impossible to share the gospel without giving of my own self as well.

Lord, thank You for intertwining our lives with Yours, so that Your story is our glory and we are one.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Intertwined

Each time we tell
the Gospel story
and make Jesus
name be known
how He gave up
His life to save us
we can’t help but
lay down our own.
