Healing In His Words

 

Please speak Your words
of correction

as they are healing
to my life

for I know
You love me

and lead me to
what’s right.

Because You are with me and love me, You speak words of correction to me, that I may be healed.

“This is what the Sovereign Lord. The Holy One of Israel, says: ‘In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.’ ” Isaiah 30:15 NIV

“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preqch the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:1-4 NKJV

“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.” 1 John 4:16,18

Glorifying God

 

We can
follow Him
even
unto death

knowing we
glorify Him
with each
loving kindness.

You establish ways for me to glorify You.

“This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, ‘Follow Me.’ ” John 21:19 NKJV

Eternal

 

You were
born of Me
when you
believed

given
eternal life
My witness
received.

A laid down life is eternal.

“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. This is He who came by water and blood – Jesus Christ . . .and it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself. . .And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” 1 John 5:1,6,10,11 NKJV

Of Me

 

You are of Me
and have overcome
he who is in
the world

confessing that I
have come in the flesh
testifying I’m Savior
of this world.

A laid down life is loved by God.

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in ypu is greater than he who is in the world. By this you know the Soirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.” 1 John 2,4,14, 16 NKJV

Child Of God

 

Behold how much
I love you
for now you’re called
My child

abiding in Me
and Me in you
My Spirit
testifies.

A laid down life is called “child” by God.

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.” 1 John 3:1,24 NKJV

Anointed With Truth

 

Now you
abide in Me
for I have
given you

My Holy anointing
so that you
can always know
the truth.

A laid down life is anointed with truth.

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and no lie is of the truth. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you . . .and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” 1 John 2:20,21,24,27 NKJV

Fellowship

 

Come and see
and hear and handle
this Word of Life
and Light

walking in Me
and having fellowship
leaving the dark
behind.

A laid down life has fellowship with the Father and Jesus Christ , His Son.

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life . ..we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:1,3,5 NKJV

Loving God

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”  1 John 5:3 NKJV

The word “commandment”  just sounds heavy.

Thank You, Lord, for loving us with Your commandments and helping us keep them.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Loving You
is when we do
what You
tell us to

not a burden
not a pain
just Love having
His perfect way.

Manifested Love

“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.”  1 John 4:9 NKJV

Webster’s Dictionary defines manifest as:
1) apparent to the senses or mind: obvious
2) to make clear or evident; reveal
3) to prove; be evidence of

Father, thank You for making Your love known to us in such an obvious and extravagant way! And here’s a simple poem . . .

If I have a bad day
week or year
and start to wonder
if You love me still

I need only look
to the cross and know
You love me, yes You love me
and You always will.

A Laying Down Love

“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”  1 John 3:16 NKJV

When I am carrying too much from the car to the house (or vice versa), I end up having to lay things down to open the door.

Jesus, thank You for loving us by laying down Your life.  Please show me what I can lay down today, in order to love someone.   And here’s a simple poem . . .

 

Let me live
love
by laying down
this life

knowing I
receive
a new one
in Christ.
