The Hidden Things

 

You will come
and bring to light

the hidden things
of darkness

revealing counsels
of the hearts

being the One
who praises.

foundation

with works that
are worthy

of God’s Holy
Son.

The Mind Of Christ

 

For we have
the Spirit of God

and the mind
of Christ

to know the things
we’ve been freely given

to know Him and Him
crucified.

Glory In The Lord

 

In Your presence
there can be no glory
of anything of
the flesh

for its You
who give me wisdom
redemption and
righteousness.

Weakness

Open Doors and Adversaries

“But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost.
For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Corinthians 16:8-9

Beginning to see how open doors and adversaries go hand-in-hand.

Lord, please show us how to stand and not be afraid of the attacks and the tactics that come against us this day. And here is a simple poem . . .

Woe Is Not Me

Beginning to see more and more
just what’s going on
and I’m not about to crumble
into some sad sob song.

Woe, woe is not me
no, I’m not giving in
ready to fight today
standing strong in Him.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10

I am one of those in whom the grace of God has had to work more abundantly.

The Grace Miracle

I am what I am
by the grace of Thee
and what I once was
is disappearing
though I don’t deserve it
You keep blessing me
pouring out Your love
working miraculously.

Tongue Utterings

“For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for battle?” 1 Corinthians 14:8
“So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air.” 1 Corinthians 14:9

When my youngest gets upset, she makes up words or puts words together in ways that don’t make sense. I have to wait for her to calm down in order to understand her.

Lord, please help me share You today with others in a way they understand. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Words That Edify

Whatever is on my mind
I can speak into the air

and though it feels good to me
there’s no use for it there

so I’ll submit to You, Lord
and ask for the words on my tongue

to be ones that edify
Your work being done.

Love Suffers

beaches, beds
muscles, curves, skin
long lingering looks
excitement
while

a rejected cornerstone
Golgotha, nails
stripped, torn flesh, blood
hanging long hours
shows
love.
