Head Gear

“I said to the LORD,  ‘You are my
God;
Hear the voice of my supplications,
O LORD.
O God, the LORD, the strength of my
salvation,
You have covered my head in the
day of battle.’ ”  Psalm 140:6-7

This reminds me of “The Battlefield of the Mind” by Joyce Meyers.

Lord, thank you for the helmet of salvation that protects my mind each day.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Covered

Though my heart
be pierced and bleed

still You know
what I need

covering my mind
and my thoughts

with the hope
salvation brought.

  1. Nice one. I need to crack that book, not use it as a brilliant and decorative dust collector… God bless you with SG, and all the other good stuff.

  2. You’ll get to it, Sis, all in good God time! And then I’ll need to get the low down on it. You are the SG, PG, Preacher gal .. .and I think I forgot something in there. 🙂
Love you and God bless you, keeping you covered in the day of battle .. which is everyday!

  3. “let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Just a couple snippets from Scripture that came to me as I read. 🙂

  4. and i’ll throw down ‘think on these things…’ to add to Pastor Bills snippets!
    This is great Deb.
    Thanks

  5. Deb,

For my personal service to the Lord, when I have my mind filled with thoughts of “the hope of salvation brought” it is the greatest motivator for me to serve Him throughout the day! Thanks for my motivation for today! May the Lord continue to bless you Deb.

  6. Reblogged this on My Delight and My Counsellors.

  7. I have been under attack lately, the evil one is trying to get to me, through my dreams. How dare the sneak, trying to catch me off guard. Well, EVERY SINGLE TIME he attacks in the middle of the night, I wake up WITH MY SPIRIT SINGING PRAISES AND GLORY TO GOD… DEEP IN PRAYER!!! I cannot explain how much in awe I am of God, His Awesome Power and Protection is upon my mind, thoughts, and heart even while I sleep! Glory to God, Praise Jesus… HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS THE LAMB! May HIS Will be done in earth as it is in heaven, AMEN!

  8. Now, that my hair has gone the way of yesterday’s winds, I take comfort in knowing my head is never bare because of the helmet of salvation. And the good news is that it’s permanently glued on, unlike my hair. Did I mention my hair?

This is so good that even Len, judge on Dancing for the Stars, would say, “10.” Does Aub ever give Sun and Beam a bath? Probably after the long winter, both need one. Then, I recommend using a spiral curry comb to fluff their hair and tails.

  9. Ah, yes – we would do well to remember that we are covered, this day and all. Thanks Deb!

  10. Beautiful – loved this. dt

  11. Thank you for your constant reminders to us … I love the line “still you know what I need” … what balm to the soul, dear friend 🙂

  12. Someday covered by a celestial crown!

  13. What a comfort it is to know that God ALWAYS knows what we need and that because He loves us with an everlasting love, He WILL accomplish within us what He chooses.

We are ‘transformed by the renewing of our minds’ [Romans 12:2] and ‘we have the mind of Christ’ [1 Corinithians 2:16]. When we ‘let this mind be in you which was in Christ’ [Philippians 2:5] we rest in Him in complete certainty of the victory He will give.

    What an incredibly amazing God!

  14. Rocket Girl! How could I forget Rocket Girl!

  20. I love the idea of a permanently glued on helmet! That way we can’t lose it. 🙂 Thank you and God bless you as He covers you today!
p.s. Giggling about giving the mice girls a bath and curry combing them! They are wild little things. We might try Wen hair care on them instead. 🙂

  21. I love being covered by Him as I know that I can’t keep all the bases covered myself! Thanks, Melody, and God bless you!

  22. Thanks poet friend and blessings as He covers you today!
