“How shall we sing the LORD’S song
In a foreign land?” Psalm 137:4
Aubrey realized recently that when she is singing, she can’t be sad or negative.
Lord, when I wonder away and cannot sing, please lead me back to You. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Restore Me
If I find
I can’t sing
in the place
I am
please help me
return to You
as fast as
I can.
Music and singing are amazing tools that, when used properly, can bring honor and glory to the Lord and bring us closer to Him. Thanks for another blessing.
Yes, AMEN!! 😀
Interesting. I have been having my oldest son pray, “how can I glorify you?” In that sense, the place we are is a foreign land when we aren’t singing.
I need to follow Aub’s advice and sing more often. Praise God, what a great revelation. Thanks.
A 10.125 today, okay? Tell Aub I’m placing a sawbuck on Jenteel’s nose to win the Derby. I know. I know. It’s an old-fashioned word, but hello! That’s kind of who I am. Just an old-fashioned guy wearing leisure suits with white belts and white shoes and a baseball cap in the midst of those who don’t.
Reblogged this on My Delight and My Counsellors.
Oh I LOVE this, Sis Deb!! I’m going take this tip from Aubie and put it in my keepsake box–singing chases away the sad and negatives, YAY!!!!! God bless both my gals today–love Auntie Caddo
Debbie…I’m in another “foreign land”…I hope can learn my way around while I try to figure out how technical stuff works!!!
I don’t believe I’ve ever really felt I’m in a foreign land except spiritually ~the definitely a subtle power in singing hymns and praises that reconnects us to the Spirit ~a wonderful little poem written in pure light!
