“Our soul has escaped as a bird from
the snare of the fowlers;
The snare is broken, and we have escaped”  Psalm 124:7

We watched a red tailed hawk soaring into the sky the other day.

Lord, thank You for setting us free from the snare, so we can fly.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

To Fly

The hawk started
down low

then climbed up high
into the sky.

She wondered why
it would do this

I thought, it was
meant to fly.

(Hi dear friends!  I will be away from the computer quite a bit
the next 10 days, and haven’t yet decided how to deal with it.
🙂   So, if I don’t get to your blogs or to my own, you’ll know why!
Wishing you a beautiful Easter!)

  1. The story of Easter is being set free. From sin. From death.

  2. Reblogged this on My Delight and My Counsellors.

  3. Freedom from sin to Christ…. what a wonderful thought! Thank you.

  4. Have a blessed break Deb…

  5. Thank you Jesus for freeing us from earths grave and giving us eternal life. ~ God Bless you Deb, and enjoy your time away ~

  6. “…it was meant to fly…”

The first thought which drifted through my mind was the old Christian spiritual, “I”ll Fly Away.” It’s one of those happy, clappy upbeat songs which tells about flying away to heaven after this weary life is over. Although I like the song, it misses the important point about being citizens in the Kingdom of God. You see, like that hawk, we’re set free to fly now and soar above life here on earth, into the heavenlies where we are seated with Christ.

    A Yipee poem today.

No noogies today for Aub, but I pray you’re both refreshed when you return. God bless you.

  7. Happy Easter, Debbie! Your cheerful presences will be missed…

  8. Sister Debbie wishing you and your family a very Blessed Resurrection Sunday

  9. Fly my friend ~ Life must slow down on occasions ~ you are loved !

  10. Is not the gift of salvation through the blood of God’s own Son enough to fill our hearts to overflowing for an eternity of eternities?

  11. I am missing you already Sis. Enjoy your freedom. Break from routine often brings the best surprises! so enjoy with arms wide open.

Praise God for the freedom we have in Christ: not only freedom from sin, but freedom from all that would ensnare us. In Christ we have His peace and joy. In Christ we have victory! In Christ we are MORE than conquerors!

  31. I love that, “freedom from all that would ensnare us”! Thank you, dear Mentor Angela, for leading us on in Christ! God bless you as you celebrate Him always!
