The Peace Of Jerusalem

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem;
‘I will now say, “Peace be within
you.”‘
Because of the house of God
I will seek your good.”  Psalm 122:6,8,9

A  president visited Jerusalem in the middle of her Passover preparations, causing businesses and public transportation to be closed down.

Lord, teach us how to seek the good of Jerusalem and each other.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Seeking Good

I am for you
I am with you
and I will seek
your good.

Peace, peace
I will give you
coming as I
said I would.

  1. Had to be a president who didn’t understand or care? That aside: peace in Jerusalem will come when Messiah is revealed. Even so come.

  2. Peace – that must be a troubling word in so troubled a corner of the world… we wait with bated breath to see what will happen there in the coming days!

  3. I love how you allowed the voice of the Father to speak over Jerusalem and over me. What a comfort and joy in days of uncertainty here and there.

  4. May the Lord bless the people of Israel with the blessing of salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus as the Only True Promised Messiah. Just as with all mankind, this is their greatest need. Lord bless you Deb.

  5. Israel is GOD’s chosen people and we must always pray and stand up for them….Any nation that comes against Israel God will destroy.

  6. To date, 32 of the 192 UN nations do not recognize Israel as a nation, even though Israel has been a nation since 1948. Most of the 32 nations are the Arab states surrounding Israel. So, you can see, we need to continue praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

GREAT poem, especially for this season. Moving. Moving. Moving. Head ’em up, roll ’em out, rawhide. Yeah, same-oh, same-oh here. Have a great day in Cat-Land.

  7. Thank you, Pastor Bill, for praying and knowing Jesus will be revealed. 🙂 The president unfortunately did understand .. .but that was part of his strategy. God bless you and yours during this blessed time.

  8. You’re right , Melody .. much going on there all the time! God bless you with peace , right here, right now!

  9. So glad for the comfort He brings to us when it doesn’t seem likely! Thank you, Mr. Ben, and God bless you and pour over you today!

  10. Thank you for praying for the blessing of salvation for Israel, Pastor Rob! God bless you and yours, as you seek the good of all.

  11. Thank you for your understanding, dear Desiray. It’s not an option really, of whether to pray for Jerusalem or not. God bless you and yours this Holy week!

  12. Thank you for your insight into how Israel still isn’t recognized as a nation by some, Mr. Larry. Guess they won’t be praying. God bless you as you do! Special moving prayers for you . ..now the rawhide song is playing in my head.

  13. Yes please!

  14. Israel is a land chosen by God to tell all the world that He alone deserves to be worshipped…that He alone is the One we sin against…that He alone has offered a Sacrifice adequate to pay for the worst of our sins…that He alone is willing to forgive as a “gift”…in exchange for the simple offer of our own surrender and trust.

  15. Thank you for your beautiful comment that testifies of Christ, Ike! God bless you as you worship and adore Him alone!

  16. This verse has always got me thinking the depth of love God has for this nation yet not many realise this. I pray for the peace as well as their Salvation and mine too. God bless you for reminding us. I’ll ensure to do it daily.

  17. Thank you for your huge heart that wants to do what He wants you to! God bless you and give you peace as you pray!

  18. Reblogged this on My Delight and My Counsellors.

  19. Jerusalem will never be destroyed again as Isaiah prophesied and, she’s still His bride!

  20. Thank you so much for reblogging and God bless you and your work!

  21. I love that Debbie . ..that she’s still His bride! Makes me cry, for some reason. God bless you, beautiful lady, and overflow you with peace!

  22. Hallelujah – it’s vital for us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Just because God has given us a new covenant doesn’t mean that He’s forgotten or forsaken His old covenant. We should also pray that our leaders would TRULY stand for Israel, not just in words, but in deeds.

Much love to you my beloved sister,
    Cheryl

  23. So true that He has not forgotten His covenant with Israel, Cheryl! Thank you for your prayers and understanding! Love you and God bless you!

  24. It is so good to know that God is perfecting everything that concerns us!

  25. He is a good perfecter! 🙂 Thank you and God bless you and yours, Pastor J!

  26. As I read this post i was reminded of the good that the Lord seeks and works. These words from the hymn “How Firm A Foundation” came to my mind:

“When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,
    My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply;
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.”

    Love,
    Theresa

  27. I really loved the hymn’s words, Theresa! Thank you so much for sharing and for reminding us of His good towards us each day! love you and God bless you!
