“And the truth of the LORD endures
forever.” Psalm 117:2
A few definitions for endure are:
1.) to suffer patiently
2.) to undergo, especially without giving in
3.) to continue in the same state
4.) to remain firm under suffering or misfortune without yielding.
Lord, help us to endure for Truth’s sake today. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Forever
Truth endured
taking on our sins
remaining firm
and in love
continuing.
I “predict” we will have to learn a lot more about endurance in the coming years if we choose to be Christ-followers. Your words will ring true even more.
Reblogged this on My Delight and My Counsellors.
thank you Debbie
When it comes to endure that is a hard one for us because we assume it should not take as long as it does at times. But what I am finding out and still and that is endure brings about patience, and God knows I was never one to have patience but He is teaching me through this process of endure.
A little Gabby Hayes’ witticism is needed here to describe your poem: “Jumping Jehoshaphat!”
Your poem is simple, but it’s jumping jehoshaphat profound, too. Thanks and God bless you today.
Tell Aub that Lucy is sitting next to me, wanting to give her a double paw noogie.
This is really good, Sis–hanging onto truths today. God bless you as you go about all that is Wednesday–love to my gals, Caddo
THANK YOU! … dear sister~
His Word endures…. equipping us to endure in our service to Him. Thanks Deb.
Great poem. It’s funny that last week I kept being reminded of the verse, “Endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ.”
beautiful ~without humble submission we cut ourselves from God’s transforming power! Thank goodness His truth, light, love is immovable !
Debbie, “in love continuing” reminds me that He will continue the work in us, and thus we are able to continue in the walk He has set out before us. Otherwise I’d be hooped! Thank you for your contemplative poems that help us to “be still and know…”
Blessings ~ Wendy
I understand endurance but still find it difficult to pray for suffering.
I think you are right about that and pray that we are all prepared. Thank you and God bless you, Pastor Bill!
Thank you for the reblog and God bless you too!
You’re welcome Terry! Thanks for stopping by and God bless you and Al, always!
You are so right about that enduring process, and how it takes patience. I just received a few patience lessons here lately! Thank you and God bless you and all that He leads you through!
Thank you, Mr. Larry, and God bless you as you keep His truth close to your heart.
I’m thinking Jumping Jehoshaphat would be a good name for a frog entered into the Calaveras County competition. 🙂
I think Aub was kind of excited about a double paw noogie from Lucy. Just one question .. .is Lucy declawed?
Love to you, sweet Sis Caddorino Delightino .. PG, SG, RG and Preacher too. Those truths are anchored deep in your heart. God bless you as you cruise into a Thursday!
God bless you, Heidi! Thank you !!
Thank you for that, Pastor Rob .. .showing how His Word helps us to endure! God bless you!
It’s always a blessing to see something elsewhere that He has brought to us earlier! 🙂 God bless you , good soldier Daisy!
Rejoicing in His truth , light and love being immovable! We may falter, but He doesn’t. Thank you and God bless you bunches!
I like what you saw in this, Wendy .. that continuing love that continues the work in us. 🙂 God bless you as you contemplate Him, in love and joy!
I sure understand that! Praying and trusting that He will help us with whatever we have to endure for Him. Thank you for always helping me think deeper … and God bless you!
It’s not easy to endure with Christ but then His Grace has given us a support and we should be better able to endure. These words so short yet meaningful. God bless you dear Debbie.
No, but she’s a rag doll cat, which means she is overly friendly to all.
Awesome Word!! Enduring under pressure and longing to be free, can cause many set backs. But since we belong to Jesus we can endure until the end. 🙂
Love you Debbie
I am counting on His grace too, Emerald! Thank you and God bless you!
Yay Jesus! So good to see you, precious Pat, and joining you in enduring and praising our King! Love you and God bless you!
Yes, He did, Debbie! And because He did, we shall!
God grant you grace!
Love this comment, Maria . .because He endured, we shall. Thank you and God bless you abundantly today and give you peace.
My immediate thought . . .
“who, for the JOY that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame” Hebrews 12:2
coupled with the song . . .
“When HE was on the cross, I was on His mind”
What an incredibly amazing Redeemer, who loves us with an everlasting love!
Thank you for reminding us of the Lord’s unchanging character and everlasting love.
That verse is just perfect for us and the word endured, mentor Angela! Thank you for blessing us and sharing here, for His glory! God bless you mightily!
So good to see you, Heather! And so thankful for His unchanging character and everlasting love! God bless you and yours!
Oh, I felt so much power in the words of this beautiful poem! I thank the Lord for giving this poem to you to share.
