Walking It Out

“I will walk within my house with a
perfect heart.”  Psalm 101:2

Those within our household know us best.

Lord, may I walk with You, my Perfect One, today.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Step by Step

You’ve given me Your Spirit
You’ve given me grace

now it’s up to me
to walk out my faith

knowing others are affected
by the steps I take

I lean on You, Jesus
each and every day.

  1. I have missed receiving notifications of your post!… Uplifting as always Debbie 🙂

    Hugs!

  2. I hope it’s okay for me to just wear sandals, Sis Deb–I’m pretty strong and fast in ’em, thanks to Jesus! God bless you BIG–love, sis Caddo Delight, Holy Spirit power-walking

  3. Perhaps this is the reason why Jesus said “a prophet is without honor in his own country.” Those within know us best. Yikes!! 🙂

  4. Love this! Thanks so much for the inspiring words today. Blessings!

  5. That is so true it is up to us to walk out in faith. Love the poem my dear

  6. Hi Debbie,

Thanks for this posting. It is so true that the ones who know us best are the ones that live in our house. That’s why, in many ways, it is most difficult to witness to those of our own household. They know us so well, including our faults, that they always can find a reason not to take our advice. May the Lord grace each one of us to live holy lives in the midst of our household. Thank you for a great reminder.

Also, so glad to see that you’ve been included in the MDMC website. I know your posts will be a blessing to many on that site as well.

  7. Wow, this one . . . knowing others are affected by the steps I take . . . really hits home and gives me so much to think about. Thank you for inspiring me today Deb. God’s abundant blessings to you.

  8. This is such a great poem and post that is full of Godly wisdom. It is the prayer of my heart, too. I hate that I still fall so short. I wish I could have perfect faith, perfect love, perfect obedience. But I keep calling on Him and leaning…trembling at times as I lean, but still leaning.

Thank you so much for sharing this.

    Love,
    Theresa

  9. If it were “up to me”………I’m doomed.

I want to emphasize the personal pronoun “I”. Ezekiel 36:25-27…..”Then “I” will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; “I” will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Moreover, “I” will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and “I” will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. “I” will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statues, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.

Sure looks like He who began a good work……will finish it:-)

  10. Beautiful piece! God Bless 🙂

  11. Thank you sister Debbie; for your encouragement today.. Blessings.. Bro Pat 🙂

  12. “…Those within our household know us best…”

Most of the time this is a comfort, but every so often, when I mention something God has laid on my heart which may go against the grain, it can be rough. People then remember when I was 12 years old or 20 or 40 or 50, and remind me of my mistakes. But alas, they are probably the God-appointed needles to burst my balloon and ready me for the outside world. And after all, they stuck with me – we’re family.

Great poem. Which takes longer? Writing the poems or finding the pictures? You always have great pictures to illustrate your ideas.

  13. nice Deb

  14. Reblogged this on My Delight and My Counsellors.

  15. This is great Deb. What a challenging verse – to walk with a perfect heart with those who know us best. DOn’t know about you but sometimes they’re the ones who get to see my less-than-perfect side. Thank God for His grace! Have a great week x

  16. God reveals so much of Himself in the small steps we take toward Him. Grateful for your reminder (and you sharing your gift!!!)

  17. Ah, the best place for us is humility, in Another’s footsteps… I know that parenting has been a huge humbler! 🙂

  18. So blessed to see you and to read what you’ve been writing lately. You just get better and better! God bless you and lift you up, beautiful one!

  19. You go in your power sandals, Sis! You got this walking by faith thing going on! 🙂 Love you bunches and God bless you abundantly and delightfully!

  20. It’s all good though, Pastor Bill .. .they know you AND love you! 🙂 God bless you and your beautiful family and congregation!

  21. Thank you, Shelly and God bless you too!

  22. God bless you as you walk and hike, in faith, to new heights, dear Desiray!

  23. I know just what you mean, Pastor Rob. It’s real humbling, but I know that He is here with me, working it all out! God bless you and thank you for encouraging us from His word so faithfully . .helping us to walk in faith.

  24. I know He is guiding your steps, sweet Deborah . ..and your poems! God bless you as you keep on keeping on, in Jesus!

  25. I get so discouraged whenever I fall short too, dear Theresa. I loved the leaning . .and trembling too sometimes. We’ll do this together! Love you and am thinking of you! God bless you muchly!

  26. Yay, Ike! I loved that ending, that He who begun a good work will finish it! 🙂 God bless you as you go with Him today!

  27. Thank you for being here and blessing us . ..God bless you!

  28. So glad for your encouragements too, Bro Pat! God bless you and yours!

  29. It can be a comfort and a bit of a challenge too, Mr. Larry! Especially when they burst our balloons! God bless you mightily as you walk out in faith each day!
I think writing the poems takes longer . ..I am usually crunched for time as I post, so grab a picture pretty quick. God must help me if they are working with the ideas! Yay Jesus!

  30. God bless you, Terry!

  31. Thank you so much and God bless you and your ministry!

  32. Oh definitely, Aimee . . .they see my less than perfect side too! And they aren’t shy to comment on it either. haha! Humbling but good too. I read a quote before that said to use our kindest gentlest voice for at home. 🙂 Thank you and God bless you as you walk with His grace, within your house!

  33. I loved the reminder of the small steps, Heidi! Thank you! They all count! God bless you and yours, and your steps of faith and grace today!

  34. Amen, wise Melody! Parenting is definitely one of His teaching tools. 🙂 God bless you as you tread gently with Him!

  35. ‘knowing others are affected by the steps I take’ is definitely reason enough to ‘lean’ on Jesus continually! This is one of my new favorites of yours, Debbie.

    Blessings ~ Wendy xo

  36. You are way gracious, Wendy! And I love how you lean on Him .. I learn from your lean! God bless you and yours today!

  37. God bless you, Debbie! I see your feet in those walking shoes!
What a stunner, that those who live with us know us best. (Yikes, actually.) Especially at home then, we must walk in His ways, the place we should shine for Him most.

  38. You very welcome… God Bless 🙂

  39. I keep praying to shine and walk out His love, here at home first, dear Maria! God bless you, as those that know you best, love you best! 🙂

  40. I’m glad you accepted the invite from MDMC Deb. Your ‘simple poems’ are so rich they should be read by as many as possible.

  41. I agree it is always harder to ‘walk the walk’ among those closest to us, but our God is able and I know He longs to use us to reach our own. He instigated families and wants to see us united in faith. Praying for you as you ‘lean on Him’ and seek to show the love, mercy and grace of our God in your home.

  42. Thank you so so much for your prayers as I walk according to His will right within these walls. Your prayers mean so much to me and have encouraged me tonight! God bless you , mentor Angela and your dear family, united in Him!
