A Multitude of Anxieties

“”In the multitude of my anxieties
within me,
Your comforts delight my soul.”  Psalm 94:19

There will always be a multitude of anxieties.

Lord, I chose to be comforted by You today.  And here is a simple poem . . .

Comfort Delights

There is a river
called Anxiety

that churns and tosses
you about

here are paddles
and a life jacket

take My hand now
climb on out.

  1. Beautiful way to put it and so true! Blessings!!

  2. Be so much easier to handle if there was just one. It is the diversity that makes living life a challenge. Frankly, I prefer it that way. Where is the challenge in boredom?

  3. Thanks Deb, His comfort does bring delight and your words sent chills of joy up my spine knowing He is my comforter. Blessings and comfort my friend!

  4. How very true… “There will always be a multitude of anxieties.”… but…here are paddles and a life jacket take My hand now climb on out.
Wonderful message we need everyday! Lord bless you.

  5. We need to let the Lord take over. Thanks dear Debbie.

  6. “…There is a river
    called Anxiety…”

What a great word picture because there is also a river flowing from the throne of God (Rev. 22:1). Whether we live in peace or fear is determined by which river we choose to swim in.

Great poem as you journey through Psalms. Bake a chocolate pie and have a TGIF day with Aub and family.

  7. Climb on out – a choice, always and ever a choice. Who will we believe – our senses or our Saviour?

  8. love it Deb and the picture

  9. Sister Debbie I like this allot. One of my fears use to be heights, about a month ago I started rebuking this fear, I began to see how fear was stopping me from doing certain things which I enjoy. One of the things I love doing with my hubby and that is hiking but each time we would go I would not go very high all because I was afraid of heights. And so for a month when I get up in the morning I would look myself in the mirror and quote 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 and yesterday for the first time I looked my fear in the face and I won the victory over it.

Hubby and I went to the mountains and we crossed a bridge which was about 100 feet and water was under the bridge. I was so happy crossing it because last year I was afraid to cross it. When my feet was on the bridge I thank God for helping me to over come that fear. I am now so much looking forward to our hiking again in the mountains and this time I can go all the way to the top and won’t be afraid.

  10. “Your comforts delight me soul.” “Take my hand now, climb on out.” Mmmm beautiful and so loving. He doesn’t just comfort us where we are, but comforts us as He transplants us to where He wants us to be. Lovely! Thank you!

  11. This is a Terrific message for us, Sis Deb–I think I’ll tape it up where I can see it, on days when I’m floundering in the currents! God bless you Big on this Fab Faithful Friday–love, sis Caddo Delight

  12. River of anxiety…how that applies sometimes! *Thank you* for another great word picture with words and pictures Debbie! You have such a *great heart* and a way with words and you share God’s grace and love with us. We are all better for what you share. Your fine work reminds me of that verse “apples of gold in settings of silver.” So beautiful!!!

  13. Oh, Dearest Deb!!!

“Lord, I chose to be comforted by You today.”
    Amen 🙂

This is beautiful!! The picture and the word picture say a lot!

The river is going to be there whether or not I like it, but His everlasting arm is always there to save!

    Thanks for the reminders 🙂

  14. I wish it wasn’t true but there will always be things to worry about.

  33. Not yet. Should be next month. The Lord has been gracious during my stay here. 🙂

  34. In our anxiety of the impending change and the unknown, what could we do to shift our perspective?

  35. Oh He is, He is! 🙂 Thanks, my friend…

  36. I am so glad I read this post tonight. I have come a long way, too. I admit that I had to finally submit to being put on medicine back in 2011, but the Lord has used that as well as many other things to bring to the place I am at now. I still have anxious moments where fear splashes on me, but it doesn’t dunk me under anymore!

  37. Thank you for being here, dear Shakti, and for such a real question! Here are somethings that help me . . .I start being thankful for everything I can think of . ..that I have food this day, a place of shelter, clothes on my back, that the sun is shining or the rain is making everything shiny. Being thankful leads me to praise God and worship Him for who He is . .mighty, holy , faithful and ever true. And I remember all the times that He has come to my rescue when things were changing and uncertain. I hope that helps some! God bless you in all the days ahead!

  38. I LOVE your testimony, dear wonderful woman of the Word! Isn’t it amazing, to just get splashed on now, but no longer carried under and down river. Praising Him with you! Love you and God bless you!

  39. This is absolutely the bottom line to all our anxieties we must hand them all over to Him! Wonderful truth found in these few short lines. God Bless You!

  40. Reblogged this on My Delight and My Counsellors.

  41. Thank you for reblogging! God bless you!

  42. We don’t want to hang on to them, do we? They are like rocks that sink us. God bless you and thank you for your beautiful comment!

  43. I’m printing this…..thank you for such a great word picture!

  44. God bless you, Chrystal! Praying that your day is anxiety free!
