“Be still and know that I am God,
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”  Psalms 46:10

Being still and knowing God leads to His exaltation.

Lord, quiet us today, that You may be seen and heard. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Exalted                                                       images

We know that
we know You

but still
we need stilled

to witness You
being exalted

just as You
say You will.

  1. Hallelujah! Jesus loves me, this I KNOW. 😀 Thinking about all of the things I know, because He has revealed it to me.

    Love you lots,

  2. Hi Deb,

This is one of my most valued texts. It has comforted me many times when I was faced with difficulties in my life. Have a good weekend. Thanks for bring this verse to my mind.

  3. This is the second one on this idea I read today. Today is my day off and I plan to do just this. Nothing of work planned.

  4. Great reminder to take time to be still before our Creator. Thanks!

  5. Love the poem…I know for me I have to on purpose take time to be still. Thanks for the reminder. Blessings

  6. “but still we need stilled…” This is definitely one of those times when too many cooks can spoil the broth – it seems that often the greatest thing we can do is to be still and not mess up his plans when we are in the midst of a trial… Keeping our lips still can help his power speak the loudest!
Thank you, Debbie, for this lovely reminder to “be still” ~ Wendy

  7. “Be still and know that I am God,..”

In other places throughout the Psalms, the authors instruct us to make a joyful noise to the Lord. These differences have always amazed me about God in that He can not be boxed in one or the other, but is the God of all.

    Great post and poem. Thanks.

  8. Praying for stillness today, as I contemplate my loved ones and strangers facing health crises and traumatic losses. I know that HE is GOD, and I exalt HIM–Lord, help me to speak Faith rather than fear (to others, as well as to my heart). Thank You Lord, that You are ABLE. God bless you, Sis Deb, as you enjoy a faith-filled Friday–love, sis Caddo

  9. love the poem and photo!

  10. Walking in peace. Really like that picture Debbie.

  11. What a beautiful thing to think about today, all because of Jesus and His love! God bless you! love you too and thinking of you!

  12. Thank you for being here, Pastor Rob, and for how you bring us His Word, to be stilled by and know Him. God bless you and yours!

  13. God bless you and your special days off, with your Jesus! Nothing better than that! 🙂

  14. Probably kind of hard to do , right now, for most of us. But even a few moments before Him do us good. God bless you, Shelly, and thank you for your faith and witness!

  15. I think that is really a good point . make a point of being still. Thank you, Betty! I appreciate you and your wisdom in Christ! 🙂 God bless you and yours!

  16. Thank you for just knowing my heart in these poems, Wendy! 🙂 Praying to be still when He wants to speak. God bless you, sweet friend, as you stay quiet before Him, ready to know all He wants you to.

  17. As I reply to the comments, I was considering the same thing, Mr. Larry. We aren’t always to stay quiet! Believing He will let us know when to do what. God bless you as He stills and stays your heart on Him.

  18. What a precious prayer and offering, dear Sis of His heart and mine. Praying with you, to trust Him and exalt Him, even in the face of tragedy and grief. love you so much and God bless you and still you in His presence.

  19. Thank you, dear Terry, and God bless you and Al!

  20. I like that one too, Brook. I don’t search long and hard for photos . ..kind of something that God helps me with and brings to me. 🙂 So that makes it an extra blessing when it blesses others. God bless YOU!

  21. Americans need to know this more than anything — Be still and know that I am God! Great Post, Deb!
Merry Christmas & God Bless You!

  22. “but still
    we need stilled”

That is so true. Thank you so much for sharing this poem and post.

  23. Praying with you for that knowing here , Lady Dei. God bless you and the wonderful way you minister to us, in His Word and with His photos.

  24. So good to see you, dear woman of the Word. May you be stilled tonight and drawn close to see Him exalted. God bless you! love and prayers!

  25. […] Deb’s blog has a short poem on the stillness and worship of Psalm 46:10- Know […]

  26. Thank you for the link! God bless you!

  27. We know sooooooooo much about hustle and bustle and rushing around, especially at this time of year, but the real secret (which isn’t a secret) of getting everything done without the hassle, is in being still in the presence of the Lord, and enjoying His abiding presence and His enabling.

Thanks Deb for the timely reminder.

  28. I love how you reveal the secret that isn’t a secret, mentor Angela! 🙂 He often reveals to me that much of what I think I need to do, I don’t . ..and that gives me more time to do what I need to do, being still in His Presence. What an amazing and good God! God bless you as you abide in Him!
