Near To Save

“The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.”  Psalms 34:18

Our broken flower pot let dirt fall out and light come in.

Lord, thank You for being ever near.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

He Comes Close                                      index

You specialize
in broken hearts

when our lives
are torn apart

and so humbled
by all the mess

You draw near
in tenderness.

    Blessings ~ Wendy

  7. Debbie, your “simple poems” bless my heart. Thank you for sharing the simplicity of the Lord’s great love for us!

  8. “…and so humbled
    by all the mess…”

It’s not so much what others have done to me that has broken my heart, but rather, it’s what I have done against God that’s has broken mine over and over again. Each time, I vow to never do it again. What a liar I am.

Great reminder for all of us.

  9. Hello Debbie, and yes He does draw near in tenderness, and I am so glad He does.We go through so much on a daily basis and we need His tender touch!! Lovely poem and wonderful message.
    Love you 😀

  10. Yes…so humbled by all the mess. And had never thought about how the broken pot lets the dirt out and the light in. *Thank you* for such heavenly words and images.

  11. Maybe a really humble person would not say she’s humbled…but let’s say sad and regretful about all the mess(: So glad Jesus specializes in broken hearts.

  12. Love you too, Sis Caddo, and your tender heart for Him. God bless you bigger and muchly and always!

  13. Such a need for it, all the time, it seems. And only He can do it right. God bless you and that family member as He draws near.

  14. God bless your kind heart, John!

  15. This clay pot has been broken many times. Every time it is broken He fills in the cracks and makes it stronger. Awesome!

  16. I should’ve looked for an image of that broken pot! God bless you in His tenderness today!

  17. God bless you, Pastor Rob, as He draws near to encourage your servant’s heart each day!

  18. And for those have been broken:
“Ring the bell that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” Leonard Cohen

  19. God bless you and yours, Wendy, in all those wonderful loving ways only He can do!

  30. He draws near to us broken creatures, and how does He do that? He does it in tenderness. The great physician seeking out the injured and the brokenhearted. My sin breaks my heart. This fallen world breaks my heart…so much heartbreaking stuff, but so much comfort, too. 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful post.

  31. Thank you for showing us your tender heart that loves Him, wonderful woman of the Word! You comfort us just through your faith. God bless you! love and prayers!
