Confession Time

“I acknowledged my sin to You,
and my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, ‘I will confess my
transgressions to the LORD.’
And You forgave the iniquity of
my sin.”  Psalms 32:5

In order to confess my sins, I must first acknowledge them.

Lord, thank You for Your forgiveness as I come confessing today.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

When I Know

May I be quick
to acknowledge

and confess
my sin

trusting You
will forgive me

and make me
new again.

  1. There is a whole lot of pain and separation as a result of not taking care of things immediately. Well said Deb.

  2. Yes! So important to be mindful of our sins – and of course, the love and redemption that awaits us when we ‘come clean’ with the one who knows us so well already 🙂

  3. I love the faithfulness of our God who always forgives when we take a step towards Him through confession!

  4. This is so important. I am so thankful that the Lord brings these things to the light so we can have an opportunity to respond.. Next week I have my final in the only class I did not drop. Then there will be Christmas break. Pray for me that I will have many moments to be quiet and still, and that I will yield.

    Love
    Theresa

  5. Your poem Debbie should be our attitude towards prayer. With the season upon us and many are frazzled overwhelmed one thing we don’t have to be and that is frazzled. We can go to that still place and just dwell in His presence as we get refreshed from on High..AMEN

  6. I am the same way. As soon as I know I did something wrong, I go to God for forgiveness

  7. Your poem evokes that wonderful, just washed, feeling – after getting right with God!
    Blessings ~ Wendy

  8. Amen – Lord, let me be ever sensitive to Your Spirit as you convict me and cleanse me. I love your poetry – it’s straight to the point. 🙂

  9. I went through a time that I felt the entire body of Christ needed repentance for all of our sins against society. I couldn’t write about it as I wanted to. The reason was that God was dealing with me all along to repent and live a life of repentance. I am to recognize my sin, faults, habits that displease Him and eventually write about my experience, then share. It is God’s goodness that leads me to seek forgiveness. Thanks for a beautiful post.

  10. “…May I be quick
    to acknowledge

    and confess
    my sin…”

There’s usually a tipping point in our walks with God when we discover God knows all about our sins and still loves us anyway. When this revelation hits us, it becomes easier and easier to quickly confess our sins.

    Great simple poem today.

Tell Aub I gave myself a noogie and it hurt!

  11. Good poem and message for us, Sis Deb. I must echo Larry’s words, and with a joyful heart! Once we get it settled in our minds HOW MUCH JESUS LOVES US, and that our sins are NO Surprise to Him–then we need have no fear of running to His arms to acknowledge we “Boo-boo-ed Big”. His kind of love and grace is so freeing, and His forgiveness is right now–He doesn’t make us work to earn it, or prove ourselves worthy. Well, I’ve been up less than an hour–and just preached myself happy! God bless you, my Sweet Sis–love, sis Caddo Delight

  12. Amen!! Hello my dear Debbie!! I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
    Love you 😀

  13. Deb – this is great! Thanks for keeping right before Him, and before us.

  14. Thank you for sharing that, Pastor Bill. So true . .. the longer I wait, the more I try to rationalize my sin. God bless you and yours today! And yes, you get double blessings for doing the Black Friday shopping trip! 🙂

  15. I love how you put this , Ali .. .to remember the love and redemption that awaits us when we come clean. We don’t have to be afraid. God bless you and your sweet family!

  16. I love that too, Pastor J. I witnessed an interaction the other night, where one person asked for forgiveness . . .and a punishment was handed out instead. It reminded me all the more of how great our God is and all that He does! God bless you and all the steps you take with Him.

  17. You are so sensitive to His Spirit, sweet woman of the Word. I am praying now for there to be time for you and He to be together, Father / daughter time! God bless you as you take that last final! love and prayers!

  18. There is much to think about with the Christmas season here and I love that He can be our help always, to keep us rejoicing in Him and in His presence. Much better than staying frazzled! God bless you and refresh you today!

  19. I love that about you, Terry. You don’t wait and just know where to go . .to Jesus! God bless you with His faithful love and forgiveness!

  20. Oh, I loved that, Wendy . ..the ‘just washed feeling’. Like when we hang clothes on the line to dry . ..that sweet smell of just washed. 🙂
God bless you as you love Him today!

  21. Conviction is not such a bad thing . . .not when it leads us closer to Him! God bless you, Cheryl, and your desire to always be sensitive to Him! Your love of Jesus shines through your posts and comments! love and prayers!

  22. Thanks for a beautiful comment! 🙂 I loved how it’s God’s goodness that leads us to seek forgiveness. We don’t have to fear or try to hide what we’ve done. He knows and is waiting to forgive us and heal us. God bless you and your wonderful relationship with Him!

  23. I love that idea of a tipping point, Mr. Larry! You always give us something wonderful to take away and think about. 🙂 So thankful for that love of His! God bless you as you confess and just get closer and closer to Him.
p.s. tip . .. leave your hat on when you noogie yourself. 🙂

  27. Thankful God has incredible mercy and saves a sinner like me! Great post, Deb.
    God Bless You!

  28. And a sinner like me too! God bless you, Lady Dei, as you keep going to Him about everything!

  29. Forgiven . . . what a precious word. While it is a precious word when given from anyone, it is incredible when given from the omnipotent God.

Forgiven, cleansed, clothed in the righteousness of Christ, at peace with God . . . all because of the finished work of Christ.

    What an amazing Saviour!

  30. We have so much in Him! Thanking Jesus today, for His forgiveness, cleansing and for clothing me in righteousness. God bless you abundantly, mentor Angela!
