Fault Lines

“Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.” Psalm 19:12

Too many times I have sat pouring over the checkbook, trying to understand my errors.

Yes Lord, please cleanse me from secret faults today.ย  And here’s a simple poem. . .

Grace Cleanser

Some of my faults
are plain to see

source – care2.com

others hide
and deceive me

but You cleanse
so carefully

exposing them

  1. Hi Sis Deb! It’s so true that lots of my faults/flaws are glaringly obvious–and some I’m mercifully blind to! I am thankful for a Father God who cleanses us gently, with Grace–polishing us brighter, day by day, with His Glory Scrub. I wish they sold that at Safeway–I’d buy it, no matter what the price, and have my whole place shining! God bless you and my angel niece–much love, sis Caddo Delight

  2. What a blessing it is to know that our faults have all been covered by his blood…. when we could not clean ourselves, He graciously intervened and did the washing for us! Lord bless.

  3. “…Too many times I have sat pouring over the checkbook, trying to understand my errors…”

This would be my wife, not me. She likes to figure out the checking account to the last penny. Sadly, she married me.

  4. “graciously” – I love that about God. He doesn’t throw the whole book at us at once!
    Blessings ~ Wendy

  5. We are truly blessed to have our Lord love us enough to expose our faults and than clean us up

  6. Love you, Sis Caddo Delight! What faults? I can’t see any and I’m peering over my cubicle at you right now. ๐Ÿ™‚ God bless you as He keeps you forever cleansed with His Glory Scrub!

  7. So many blessings to be thankful for, Pastor Rob! Thank you for helping us with that this month! God bless you!

  8. Poor Honey Who! ๐Ÿ˜€ Just kidding! I just kind of write in my amount and then the bank’s amount . .. and keep going. haha!
God bless you and yours, down to the last detail of your lives!

  9. So thankful with you for how He graciously deals with us! ๐Ÿ™‚ God bless you , dear Wendy, as you soak in His presence today!

  10. You are so right, Desiray! What a loving Lord to do that for us! God bless you as He loves on you today!

  11. I love the phrase “grace cleanser”
    Thanks Debbie!

  12. I was asked once whether I had ever been deceived… Most of the time, I bet I’m not aware of the deception, or it wouldn’t be deception! And we have a funny habit of deceiving ourselves, hiding our faults. God sees – and I love the image of the soap bubbles! Squeaky clean! ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Oh you make me SO Laugh, Sis–I needed that, I’m pooped today! I’m convinced you and I should go into business selling “His Glory Scrub”–you could smooth it on folks, real nice and gentle, while I preach at ’em!

  14. that is so much the truth, too often i don’t realize i am sinning until later when god shows me, thank goodness he forgives me

  15. It sounds nicer than bleach or comet. ๐Ÿ™‚ God bless you, Ben, and all He shows you today!

  16. I like that image too . . maybe lavender scented! ๐Ÿ™‚ And I loved what you said about deception . .that if we knew, it wouldn’t be deception. You are so wise! God bless you as He cleanses you in grace today.

  17. Oh yes He does forgive you and loves you like crazy, dear Terry! God bless you and Al and Polly too! love and prayers!

  18. You have such a lovely way of lifting me up – thanks Debbie!

  19. I like this! It has possibilities! ๐Ÿ™‚ You take it easy, sweet Sis! love you!

  20. Oh, you do the same thing with me, Melody! It’s a mutual lifting! ๐Ÿ™‚

  21. He does indeed cleanse graciously. Firstly it is all by His grace, totally unmerited, and it is always in such a gracious manner – never harsh or as a task-master, but lovingly. Sometimes He needs to use a bit of push and shove, but always in love, and when we respond, His love overwhelms us. What joy to be forgiven and cleansed, and able to be in perfect union with Him!

    What an amazing God!

  22. This makes me think of the Arabic saying, ู† ูู…ูƒ ู„ุจุงุจ ุงู„ุณู…ุง ูŠุงุฎุชูŠ which of course, I looked up – I don’t really think in Arabic – I just wondered where it came from. We know it as the Yiddish saying: “From your lips to God’s ears”. Except, because of Grace, it’s from your/my heart to God’s heart!
    How wonderful!
By the way, you can put me at the top of the list for the “His Glory Scrub”. I could always use a good grace cleansing!

  23. If you pay attention to your dreams and catch yourself in the shower or on the pot, the Lord is washing you off. I like those dreams — I’m glad He cares enough to wash the slime from me! Great post, Deb!
    God Bless You!

  24. That is the part that I just love, being forgiven and overwhelmed by His love! Thank you for the way you show us what goes on in this cleansing process! God bless you, mentor Angela, and you dear family!

  25. I remember when someone left that saying in the comment section . ..that was the first time I’d heard it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you gracious one, for your grace-filled interpretation of it! Praying you are well and protected. If that Glory Scrub would help with any of this, we’ll get a shipment right down to you, with the applier and preacher too. ๐Ÿ™‚
God bless you and H, as He loves you and watches over you carefully!

  26. It definitely feels good to be washed and cared about like He does! Thank you and God bless you, Lady Dei, cleansed and grateful one!

  27. It is always good to be reminded about the way God’s grace gently cleanses and restores us. His love always brings us to healing.

  28. Pastor J, thank you! You have me thinking about His love always bringing us healing . .it’s not just there to give us a warm feeling. His love does more . ..and does His grace. God bless you!!

  29. i like the word “grace cleanser” so true His grace is everything to me! thanks for sharing Debbie!

  30. God bless you, sweet flora! I love how you put that, that His grace is everything to you! You just can’t go wrong with Grace! ๐Ÿ™‚ love and prayers!

  31. @debbie @desiray Amen, and amen! ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. And let’s just add one more .. .amen! Love you Paulette and God bless you graciously today!
