Now I Lay Me Down

“I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.”  Psalm 4:8

During an ice storm, the power went out in the middle of the night and the crash of falling tree branches echoed loudly.  Yet, our oldest daughter slept through it.

Lord, thank You for being our dwelling place of peace and safety, even when our circumstances would seem otherwise.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

His Sleeping Place

Oh what a sweet
dwelling place You make
for me to lie down
in peace and safety

to sleep within
the deep, deep trust
of Your Mighty hand
upon me.

  5. When I was a little girl me and my sister would say our prayers and we always started it with now I lay me down to sleep…Many people go to sleep at night but they aren’t getting a good night rest because they aren’t resting in Jesus. When we rest in Him our sleep is perfect…nice to know He is our resting place..AMEN

  7. What a sweet picture! Your poem gives “Sweet dreams” a whole new dimension. We could be in a jail cell with the apostle, Paul, and still have sweet dreams; because His hand would be upon us. I’m not in a hurry to test this out, though. 🙂

    Blessings ~ Wendy
