A Chosen King

“Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.”  Psalm 2:6

God has already chosen a Ruler for us.

Lord, help us to carefully consider who and what we pledge allegiance to.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

My Choice

source – medinger.wordpress.com

I have set My King upon the hill
Can you see Him there?

Enthroned upon a cross
thorns entwine His hair

Then high and lifted up
Risen from the tomb

This is your Holy King
The One for you I choose.

  1. Oh Sis Deb!! This is so beautiful–“high and lifted up”, I love that, it’s in more than one song! And I got first pew tonight–yippee! God bless you abundantly with a marvelous Monday–love you, sis Caddo Delight

  2. Love this thought: Lord, help us to carefully consider who and what we pledge allegiance to. It is something I struggle with daily.

  3. “Enthroned upon a cross
    thorns entwine His hair”

That part really moves me. This is such a beautiful poem. It also emphasizes an important truth.

  4. Scripture constantly talks about the wonders of Mount Zion. Yet, it is only 2500 feet tall. If you consider that I live in a state where there are numerous peaks of 10,000 or more and hills of 2500 are ignored, then you realize it is the God who reigns from Zion and not the mountain that is special.

Great poem…only 148 more Psalms to go.

  5. Thank you sis for the poem on the cross..I want to share a chorus of a song we sing in church that I believe will go along with your poem…here it goes…

I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sins upon that cross…every time we sing this song I in vision Jesus body up on that Cross thinking that there is not one thing I could do that could pay for my sins, no amount of money could be offered my very own life could not be offered for it is not worthy. Than to think what God must of felt when He sent His only son to die for us all. What LOVE the Father has for sinners to give the world the Perfect GIFT..JESUS CHRIST.

I don’t ever want to forget the cross and what my savior did for me..and one day I will see His face and all His glory…

  6. Sister Debbie here is the link you will need I don’t have your email address other-wise I would of emailed it to you…I posted the link in the respond to your comment. I am also posting it here for you to just in case you did not go back to read my comment to your respond… all you have to do is copy and paste the link into your browser…and again thank you for wanting to help me clothe the Homeless.

    God bless you my sister…

  7. I should try to be a little more original, Sis, than use the high and lifted up! haha! God bless you too as you choose Him and He chose you! lots of love for your Monday, first pew girl!

  8. It kind of just slips in and gets blurred, Pastor Bill. At least to me! God bless you as you follow the King He has for you!

  9. Our Lord is our ultimate Ruler, but with elections drawing very near this is another much needed posting. A great reminder to us all to be willing to submit ot whoever the Lord has placed over us. As long as they lead us in a way that pleases the Lord we are to follow. Lord bless you.

  10. God bless you, dear Theresa, and all the truths He reveals to you today. love and prayers, our woman of the Word!

  11. I love it when you add background, Mr. Larry! Thank you and God bless you as you look to the One who is the highest. Just 148, just 148, just 148 . . . 😉

  12. That song says it so well, dear Desiray, and I agree, it really adds and fits to this little post! Thank you and God bless you as you remember Him today, and worship!

  13. Thank you so much for helping me out with this!! You are a blessing and He loves you and your heart for reaching out to people! God bless you as you minister in these colder months.

  14. Pastor Rob, I think that is where my heart was in this, when I read it. He just wanted me to remember who to follow, truly. God bless you as He leads you in the Way!

  15. He is so worthy! Your poem reminds me of how loving and generous He is. No pomp – but sacrificial love…

    Blessings ~ Wendy

  27. King of kings – Lord of lords – high and lifted up . . .
In ALL things Christ should have the preeminence – and we can trust Him completely because His love for us is complete.

    What an amazing triune God!

  28. In ALL things Christ should have the preeminence . .. yes, oh yes, mentor Angela. May it be so this day. God bless you as you trust Him as your Lord and Savior today!

  30. God bless you, Linda, as you trust and choose Him, over and over again . . .no matter what. love and prayers! So good to see you!
