His Prevailing Purpose

I know that You can do everything,
And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”  Job 42:2

Last week I was thinking about how God can do anything and now here we are at knowing God can do everything.  🙂

Lord, thank You for doing everything to show us that You love us and want to be with us forever. And here’s a simple poem . . .

No Withholding

There is only One
who can do everything

only One whose purpose
will prevail

only One worthy
of our worship

only One from whom nothing
will be withheld.

  1. Wonderful simple poem today, Sis Deb–and perfect picture!! I am beyond glad and grateful that His purposes and plans will prevail–even when I “think” I’d prefer something different. “Father knows BEST!” God bless you as you go about your terrific Tuesday–much love, sis Caddo Delight

  6. “I know that You can do everything,
And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.” Job 42:2

Job makes it though this horrendous trial which probably lasted for months and has a powerful revelation. Someone might say, “Did Job’s revelation justify the deep pain he suffered?”

Job seemed to think so, but even more importantly, millions of believers throughout history have been comforted and blessed by reading the book of Job.

Great poem. Where to next? Huh? Huh?

  7. Keeping us in the right perspective with this one, aren’t you? Love how you paired this with that awesome photo…

  8. Only One . . . Only You, Lord, only You! You have the only answer to my every need. You are the only One who can help me and see me through my every need. You are the only One who wants the very, very best for me and will so order my life that eventually You will get me to the place of perfection and I shall be with You forver!

You ALONE are worthy of my praise, my devotion, my yieldedness.

What an amazing self-giving, one and only God!

  9. Amen! He is Lord and He will rule! He does rule and nothing is outside of His power.

Well, I need to go back to the New Testament next, to Titus! Only it’s very short so then I’ll be back to the Old Testament and into the Psalms for a long time!

Beautiful poem and reminder, sweet friend!
He does know what He’s doing and sometimes it’s best just to be silent! 😉

  27. Our minds cannot begin to understand what it really means to say that “Our God controls everything”. Our finite minds can only attempt to grasp its full meaning and application to our lives. Lord bless you.
