“He will redeem his soul from going down to the Pit,
And his life shall see the light.” Job33:28
Pits are much easier to get into than out of.
Thank You, Jesus, for rescuing and redeeming me from where I had fallen, so I can stand within Your glorious light. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Search and Rescue
I dug my own pit
and jumped right in
where it was so dark
I couldn’t see Him
but oh that Jesus
He came after me
pulling me from the depths
into His Life eternally.
Oh, Sis Deb–how this moves my heart, such a familiar story–I’m weepy eyed. Thanking God for His goodness to rescue both of us–and then give us to each other, blessed sisters! How He does love us, Sis! God bless your Fab and Faithful Friday, dear heart–love, sis Caddo
I think I was over commenting on your post while you were here commenting on mine! haha! So thankful He saved us for so much more than the pits!! 🙂 God bless you and love on you big time today! Love you Sis Caddo!
Hi Debbie,
Yes and I am so glad, he pulled me out of the pits of hell into his marvelous light.
Thank you for a wonderful meditation.
Ciao,
Patricia
One word AMEN
Without Him our life would be “the pits”!… (ugh!) its been a long week! Lord bless you Deb… have a good weekend.
That’s the amazing part – He descends to where we are, in order to lift us out…. delicious thought for my morning!
Simply beautiful- simply true.
“…but oh that Jesus
He came after me…”
Thank God, Jesus hunts us down while we’re in our pits and opens a door for us to climb out.
“where it was so dark I couldn’t see Him”
I wasn’t even LOOKING to see Him. I didn’t even know He existed, but I knew that *IF* He did, the way I was taking (albeit for wrong motives) was the only hope of ever attaining His heaven (albeit after centuries in purgatory).
“but oh that Jesus He came after me”
He sure did! He gave me no peace at all for one week, during which He kept hammering those words into my head even though I didn’t understand them.
“pulling me from the depths into His Life eternally”
And that is what He did on that wonderful night of 8th June 1958 when He gave me understanding of those words; when He revealed Himself to me; when He overpowered me with His love, mercy and grace and made me His very own.
What an amazing Saviour!
Thank you Deb.
loved it!!!
I am so thankful that He did that for me too, Patricia! God bless you as you walk in that Light today! 🙂
God bless you, dear Desiray, and all the places He calls you to go and pray in the Light that His Life brings.
That sums it up perfectly, Pastor Rob! Our lives would be the pits without Him! God bless you and restore you this weekend!
I love how you get us thinking about Him descending to lift us out . .that just makes me praise Him all the more! God bless you as you think of Him each day!
God bless you, poet friend, as He bathes you in His perfect Light!
Mr. Larry, Jesus talked to me about opening a door this morning .. .then here it is in your comment. 🙂 Thank you and God bless you, as you point others to the Door!
That was YOUR doing, Debbie – love your thoughts….
What an amazing Saviour indeed, mentor Angela! And what an amazing testimony He has given you! Thank you for sharing your story, so that others might see that He is there for them too!!
God bless you and yours this weekend!
Yep, we dig our own pits or jump into the ones others dig that look so enticing. We do nothing to deserve rescue and yet Jesus is there to save us. Ain’t it grand!
God bless you!!
It certainly is grand, Patricia! My pit was full of quick sand and I was sinking fast. I would have missed out on so much, so much. Thank you for your witness of His goodness and God bless you too!
I thank God for the quiet place. This one is timely for me, Deb. I cannot thank God enough for His Grace. May He keep you uplifted and blessed.
amen
Thank you for your prayers, Gladwell, and God bless you and all that He brings you up and into, during the days ahead. love you! Sending hugs!
I am so grateful, that the Lord brought me up out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay! Then He placed my feet upon a rock, that solid Rock which was Christ Jesus! He established my goings, and He placed a new song in my mouth! Praise God! There’s nobody like Him! Thank you, Encouraging Debbie! Love and prayers!
Paulette
I hear a song in your comment, Paulette! 🙂 No big surprise there! God bless you and your new song of praise and worship to Him, that pours forth from you always! love and prayers for a wonderful Sunday!
I so thank Jesus for the pit He has pulled me out of!
Thankful with you, Pastor J! God bless!
Oh Deb, this one made me smile. We have so much to be thankful for.

Theresa
