“Since Man Was Placed On Earth”

“Then Zaphar the Naamathite answered and said, . . .
‘Do you not know this of old,
Since man was placed on earth,
That the triumphing of the wicked is short
And the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment
‘.”  Job 20:1,4-5

Zaphar gave a good speech on the wicked, but Job wasn’t wicked.

Lord, please help us forgive  friends and family when they accuse us, knowing it is truly the accuser of the brethren speaking through them.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Where We Are At

source – blueeyedennis-siempre.blogspot.com

Satan is a liar
there’s no end to what he’ll do

to deceive and discourage us
trying to tear us away from You

even to speaking
through friends and family

but nothing can change Whose we are
and where we’re at, eternally.

  1. Oh you know I love this one, Sis Deb!! Yep, he’ll use any means to distract and destroy (temporarily)–But WE KNOW WHOSE WE ARE, and it’s a done deal Eternally!! Yay, Jesus! God bless your worshipful Wednesday–love, sis Caddo Delight

  2. A timely word for me at the moment. Thanks for the reminder of He who is unshakeable and unchangeable, and who’ll hold us close into eternity. Can’t wait for that day when we’ll be free from the attacks of the enemy.

  3. Amen to these words, sister!!!

  4. “…even to speaking
    through friends and family…”

This is where the rubber meets the road for us Christians, but Jesus had the same problem with His family – even mother – and friends. They thought He had lost His mind. So, if we suffer with friends and family, we are just allowing Him to live in us.

Yet, I always wanted to mix Ex-Lax in the brownie mix for them…just for deliverance sake, of course.

  5. I love that the joy of the hypocrite is only for a moment..because in this walk of ours with the Lord many do make fun of us and think we are strange even our families but it won’t last for long, them making fun of us..AMEN

  6. How easy it is to falsely accuse someone and how difficult iti si to be falsely accused. May we all learn form this posting and ask for grace to forgive those who wrongly accuse us.

  7. Thank you, Dearest Deb
This is so beautiful and necessary. We can forget so easily …

  8. I know you know about this, Sis Caddo Delight! Loving you and praying with you as you take heart in being His! God bless you as you worship through Wednesday!

  9. That will be a sweet, sweet day, Ali! God bless you and encourage through your days, no matter who says what!

  10. God bless you, Terry! I know you know about this!! 🙂

  11. Mr. Larry, thank you for helping us see that it is just part of being His. Something was said to me just last night, that was more than a little discouraging . .. where is that Ex-Lax? haha! God bless you and your sense of humor, that definitely helps with stuff like this!!!

  12. I love your big heart full of Jesus, dear Desiray! “but it won’t last for long” . .that’s the Spirit! It’s really nothing compared to all eternity! God bless you and yours, as you stand with Jesus today!

  13. Praying with you for that forgiveness that is soooo vital for us. God bless you, Pastor Rob, as you endure hard accusations, for Jesus.

  14. Oh so true, my sweet friend!
This reminds me of Keith Green’s song No One Believes in Me Anymore. Do you know it? It’s written from Satan’s perspective, and as you said, he is indeed a liar and a master manipulator.
Just including the first verse and the chorus. Hope that’s OK – seems to fit with you spot on poem.

“Oh, my job keeps getting easier
    As time keeps slipping away
I can imitate your brightest light
And make your night look just like day
I put some truth in every lie
    To tickle itching ears
You know I’m drawing people just like flies
‘Cause they like what they hear

I’m gaining power by the hour
    they’re falling by the score
You know, it’s getting very simple now
‘Cause no one believes in me anymore”

  15. I sure can forget, Ann full of grace and song. Kind of get caught up in the moment, and it just seems like them against me. God bless you as you forgive and see beyond what it looks like , and bring Him praise! love and prayers!

  16. Oh gracious one! Thank you!!! What a perfect song / lyrics for you to bring here!!! God bless you as you make it hard for satan to manipulate you!!! Love you and am thinking of you!
p.s. who is that handsome guy beside you in the picture? 🙂

  17. There is no doubt that satan is extremely powerful or that he holds people in his grip and even sways governments, persuading them to legislate according to his plans.

“But God . . .” Our amazing God has set a wall around His blood-bought, adopted children. When we submit to Him and resist the devil, the devil is forced to flee because ‘greater is HE who is in us, than he who is in the world’ Satan is a defeated foe.

The devil wounds and steals and seeks to tear down, but our God heals and gives and builds up. He heals our hurts and builds our spirits and gives His peace and joy.

    What an amazing God!

  18. Oh your comments just get me hopping in my seat, mentor Angela! God bless you! I loved the “our God heals and gives and builds up.” Oh yes He does and may He do all those things for you today! love and prayers and thanks!

  19. ‘Nothing can change Whose we are…’ – how often I remind myself lately of this truth, for when it gets lost in the shuffle, we get knocked around in the heat of the battle, when we could be standing on the Rock. nice thoughts, Debbie!

  20. God bless you and set a hedge around you today, sweet Melody!

  21. There is so much religious turmoil in my family, Debbie. My Fundamentalist sister refuses to have anything to do with my wonderful, talented, artistic daughter who happens to be gay; she also condemns me and my pastor husband (yes!) to Hell for supporting Riley’s need to be who she is.

When it’s family, it’s personal. When it’s the Westboro Baptist Church picketing “God Hates F-gs,” I have to ignore them, because they crave public displays of disapproval, just like the Nazis who march in Skokie. Oy. Love, Amy

  22. Ah, thanks so much! 😀

  23. Oh Amy, you have your hands full, for sure, and are in such a unique position. I read a card by Max Lucado that used the term “billboard of mercy”. .. I think that describes you! 🙂 God bless you as you do what God calls you to do in each relationship, each day. love and prayers!

  24. wow.. I love your poems!

I am still learning to write one 🙂
