Not Inferior

“What you know, I also know;
I am not inferior to you.”  Job 13:2

Paul determined not to know anything among the Corinthians, save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. ( 1 Corinthians 2:2)

Lord, I pray to not feel superior or inferior to anyone today.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

A Lowly Place

Being in
a lowly place
doesn’t equal
less than

but a greater view
looking up
at God’s grace
first hand.

  1. Wow, Sis Deb–great job! I never thought of “lowly” providing a better perspective–what an eye-opener. God bless your Tuesday–much love, sis Caddo Delight

  2. Thank you, Dearest Deb

“Lord, I pray to not feel superior or inferior to anyone today.”

Right at His feet works fine for me… 🙂

  3. So true Deb – as always!

I prayed for a young man for many years and often thought he would have to hit rock bottom before he would look up. He did and he did.

While we have any pride or any sense of self, or any sense of being able to cope ourselves, we will not see the fully glory of God or experience the fullness of His grace.

When we acknowledge our inability, we look up and see His infinite ability and desire to work on our behalf.

    What an amazing God!

  4. Praying this prayer with you. I was in a class last night where we were taught, “God can use you when you come to understand you don’t know anything and you can’t heal anybody”. The truth is once we realize we are no better than anyone else…once we understand by ourselves we are not enough then God is free to come in and make up the difference and that will change the world! Thanks Deb!

  5. love the math: in God’s equation

  6. We should never feel inferior to anyone because we don’t know it all if anything I consider myself to be a child of God and nothing more. I know who I am in Him and Who He is in ME

  7. Your poem i so profound. In low places we tend to look up, and in high places we tend to look down. Thank you so much, Deb. I am reminded of this:

“28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

  8. “What you know, I also know;
I am not inferior to you.” Job 13:2

I’ve certainly had my Job experiences where I, too, tried to explain myself to a group of so-called comforters. It worked for me about as well as it worked for Job. Nada!

Isn’t that the way it always goes when God is working something in us which others can’t see and which we can’t put into words which can be understood?

    Eventually, we do arrive at:

    “…a greater view
    looking up
    at God’s grace
    first hand.”

  9. this was nice to read, thank you for sharing with me

  10. this is great – thank you Deb,
I never thought of the view from the bottom up.

  11. God bless you Sis Caddo Delight, and how He keeps providing you with a greater and greater view of Himself. 🙂 Love and prayers and hugs a bunches!

  12. Oh what a beautiful comment, Ann full of grace and song, and the perfect place to be always. God bless you, dear one. Thinking of you and yours tonight, praying and holding you up to Jesus. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do.

  13. I love this part . . “he did and he did”. It is hard to watch, but it does seem to take hitting the bottom for many. It did for me!
God bless you as you look up at your amazing God each day! 🙂

  14. I am taking in what you were taught last night, Pastor J . ..thank you for sharing it with us! Too often I can get in His way. I desire for Him to be free to come in and make up the difference, so I can do what He plans for me to do! God bless you!

  15. I love your comments! 🙂 Why couldn’t we take God’s math in school? 🙂 God bless you as you love Him more and more!

  16. Great, great point, Dear Desiray . .. to consider yourself to be a child of God. That is enough! God bless you and who you are in Him!

  17. Oh our woman of the Word . . what a beautiful verse to add to this! 🙂 Thank you! God bless you as you look up and feel His embrace each day! love you and am praying for you!

  18. Mr. Larry . ..I think I am always in that place in which God is working something that no one can see and I can’t put into words! argh! Yet He keeps covering me and keeping me in circumstances that just shouldn’t work. . .. but for that wonderful view of His grace.
God bless you as He does the same for you!

  19. God bless you, Terry, and keep you looking up!

  20. 🙂 I never really thought of that either, Ben, until this came out. God bless you as you keep focused on Him, wherever you are!

  21. thank u

  22. Deb what a wonderful lesson fo this morning…. you are so right… we are to take the gospel to a lost and dying world taking it to them on their level… being willing to humble ourselves and work with those whom others would not be willing to go. Thank you for this blessing this morning.

  23. God bless you, Pastor Rob, as you stay humble and true to Him and His word . .. looking up! Thank you for your comments that reflect that here!
