Prayer Shade

“Like a servant who earnestly desires the shade,
And like a hired man who eagerly looks for his wages,
So I have been allotted months of futility
And wearisome nights have been appointed to me.”  Job 7:2-3

We all need a little shade during the heat of the day.

Lord, help me to pray, providing  shade for someone today.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Shade shelters
the droughted grass
from the searing sun

and all around
each tree’s base
lies a circular rung

still green
to the edge
of the branches’ reach

sent up and out
to cover and to keep.

  1. Oh I SO SO SO LOVE this one, Sis Deb! Great job, great writing, great message for us–God bless you Big! love, sis Caddo

  2. Deb I was empathising with Job that some shade would be nice and then got convicted by your desire to provide that shade for others through prayer. Great post, and a good challenge to not just seek shade for ourselves, but to share the shade around :). Pray that He gives you revelation and insight as you intercede for others xx

  3. I have it made in the shade with you praying for me! 🙂 God bless you as He provides for you every minute of everyday! love you!

This is great, Dearest Deb!! Thank you. And thanks for always providing shade for me… May I be faithful in providing shade for others as well.

  6. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty…He will cover you with His pinions and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithful is a shield and a bulwark.” (Psalm 91:1,4)

Prayers bring God Himself into circumstances, much like Deb’s poem, so that He can shelter and shade people from danger.

    What a great poem. Thanks.

  7. What a blessing it is to find shade from the uncomfortable and trying times of our lives. How good the Lord is in supplying the needs of HIs people. Lord bless.
