“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
Boxers train to go all 12 rounds. Sprinters train for power, strength and speed.
Lord, let me not forget that I am in a fight, in a race, and it’s my faith in You that will get me through. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Fighting, Running, Faith-ing
Oh Lord let my fight
not be about who’s right
and let my race
be soaked in grace
as I keep my faith
fully based
on the only One who
will see me through.
C’est bon, Dearest Deb!
“and let my race
be soaked in grace”
Life presents us with challenges, and at times we have to fight hard to get to our destination. Forms, red tapes, late buses can easily throw us off track. We can become so focused on the finish that we forget to be kind to those who cause us delay. Grace-soaked racing is a great way to go!
“Lord, let me not forget that I am in a fight, in a race, and itβs my faith in You that will get me through. ”
Amen!
Simply beautiful. I like-y!
Blessings,
ann
This one will be planted in my heart… what an awesome prayer! Thank you Deb!
I must share this simple poem!
Thank you Dearest Deb
C’est bon!!
I like much!!!
“and let my race
be soaked in grace”
Life happens: late buses, forms to fill out, red tape … all this can delay our date with destiny. Not always easy to be kind to those who knock us off course, but I want to run a grace-soaked race!
“Lord, let me not forget that I am in a fight, in a race, and itβs my faith in You that will get me through.”
Amen.
I can fight all I want, but I can only win through Him. “not ny might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of God”
Blessings
ann

Love you and praying for you as you have a moving Monday! You are on a mission!!! God bless you and give you strength!!
Two words stand out – “FULLY based”
If we would run successfully we must be FULLY surrendered to Christ. Our life must be FULLY based on Him and His will and purpose. 99.9% based is NOT good enough. He demands, and is entitled to 100% and then some. (I am working on a post “and then some” which ties in here).
We serve an amazing God who ALONE is worthy.
Hi,
This is very encouraging. Thanks!

Deb, This is an awesome post! I reminded me of the song “Underdog” by Audio Adrenaline, especially the verse that says:
I’m in this race to win a prize
The odds are against me
The world has plans for my demise
But what they don’t see
Is that a winner is not judged by his small size
But by the substitute he picks to run the race
And mine’s already won
I’m so thankful that Jesus helps us keep up the good fight and stay in the race. Peace, Linda
I love this!! Thank you!
I found your original comment, Ann, that the imps ate! π
Oh , you know I like me some Audio Adrenaline! Thank you for sharing those lyrics here, Linda, that go so well with this post! God bless you as you just keep keeping on and in the race, with Jesus by your side! Thanks for stopping by!
God bless you, Jeff, as you fight the good fight! Loved your post on prayer today!
So many times I go to the place of trying to justify myself before the eyes of men. God has been good to show me as you said “My fight is not about who’s right.” It is to be found resting in His grace! Thanks Deb. I am enjoying catching up again. This has been a summer of constantly running behind. I am learning to live a new way in this blessed season! It is a new rhythm for me but God’s grace is teaching me how to live it!
This post brings to mind… “Without faith it is impossible to please Him”, Thank you for another very relevant posting. Lord bless.
Very impressive. Great poem!!
I am blessed as you describe your summer . .. and I see some of the fruits of it at your blog. I have slipped into a different gear as well, that might seem a little crazy to others, so am encouraged as you learn to live a new way, in a new rhythm, with God’s grace! God bless you and keep you moving to His beat!
Oh I love that faith verse as an addition here! Thank you and God bless you, Pastor Rob!
Thank you for coming by, Raani! God bless you and all those poor horses from the Western movies! π
