Seeking The Good

“For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of His brethren, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his kindred.”  Esther 10:3

I have caught myself judging someone for being  judge-y.

Lord, I desire to actively seek the good of Your people and to speak peace to them.  And here is a simple poem . . .

When We Love One Another

The Triumph of Mordecai
source –

May we seek good
for each other

speaking words of peace
from deep within

loving as
we are commanded

that He may draw
more and more to Him.

  1. Good word for us, Sis Deb! I like the being “judge-y” part–and I am SO Guilty. But “no condemnation”–just keep taking it to HIM. God bless your Wednesday with His overflowing blessings–love, sis Caddo

  2. I’m so glad that He shows me things like judging someone for judging, in the way that He does, so that I can be aware of what I’m doing . . .and more aware of what He would like me to do. Like seek their good and speak peace. 🙂 God bless you on this wonderful Wednesday and all the ways that you will do good to others out of your Jesus filled heart! love you!

  3. I have caught myself judging someone for being judge-y.

    Whoo. That’s a stinger.

Not too long ago, the thought occurred that if I can tell someone is shallow or judgmental by simply looking at him, what does that make me? :/

Thank you for the gentle reminder to allow the Lord to direct my concerns about others into a constructive response. At the very least, I could be praying that He would show me how to love in a way that pleases Him. .

  4. Deb, this ‘simple poem’ describes you. I have never read anything here that is other than seeking . . . speaking . . . loving . . .
Your heart is ‘on your sleeves’ and we see the love of Christ pouring from you as you seek to challenge and encourage us, speaking His words with His love.

Thank you for being His mouthpiece and drawing us ever closer to Him.
    What an amazing God!

  5. I love how you put it, sweet Heather . just ask Him to direct us to a better helpful response! 🙂 I know He will do that . . if I just ask and wait before Him! 🙂 God bless you as you keep loving and reaching out. It says “Jesus” each time you do!

  6. Oh mentor Angela, your comment makes me cry. Praying to truly be what you see me to be, what He wants me to be, loving others unconditionally. There is something about when we really love each other that stands out in this world. Jesus knew that, didn’t He? 🙂 And then He gives us His Spirit to help us love too. God bless you and your precious family, and how He shows His love through you so clearly. I can’t wait til you get to heaven and see all the people that you have ministered to, that came to Jesus through your faithfulness and love. 🙂

  7. You have a beautiful soul, Deb. Great inspiring post!
    God Bless you & Aubrey!

  8. God bless you and your love of others, Lady D! Your photos matched with scripture bless me soooo much!

  9. First of all TOTALLY agree with Angela. Secondly, the thought of being judgmental to those who are “judgey” is really a good point. How often do we commit the very sin that we are so intent on calling out in the lives of others! Thnks for another much needed remninder. Deb. Lord bless.

  10. There have been times when I have started to leave a comment somewhere . . .and then realized that it just wasn’t what He wanted me to say. God bless you Pastor Rob, for your humbleness and helpful excellent studies of His word! Boy do we need that!!!
