“And the king said to her, ‘What do you want, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given to you – up to half my kingdom’.”
“So Esther answered, “If it pleases the king, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet that I have prepared for him’.” Esther 5:3-4
Esther first honored and served the king.
Lord, I thank You that I can come to You at any time with anything, but first desire to bring You honor and glory and praise. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Honoring Him
Could it be
as I come to You
with a burden
on my heart
that as I first
praise and worship You
the problem
may depart?
Oh wow, Sis Deb; oh wow oh wow–what an excellent word for us today! I’m gonna try this one out pronto! God bless you as you serve Him and others, overflowing with His provision of Love–prayers for your work day–love, sis Caddo
Deb I LOVE this insight – one that I missed, and will have to add to my notes for when I finally make time to write that book! Timely word for me personally too. Much love xx
And one day soon we too will be eating at the Banquet just like Jesus said when we take communion that He will come back again and we will have it with Him..AMEN
Praising and glorfying God should be our first concern. Sad to say, at times, my puny needs I put first. Thanks for a great reminder of my need to put His glory first. Lord bless.
love this poem, because God does answer all prayers, his way, his time, and his correct answer
You are such a joy and a praise to Him! You probably already do this all the time. 🙂 God bless you too, Sis Caddo, and thank you for your prayers for us! love you!
God bless you, sweet Aimee! Thank you for encouraging me as I go through Esther. It’s short but packed full of God. 🙂 love and prayers for you and yours today, as you praise and worship Him!
That’s one banquet we will be sure to remember! God bless you, dear Desiray, as you go with God and to God!
Pastor Rob . ..this one is for myself and I pray that I am praising Him every bit as much if not more, than taking my needs to Him. I’m thinking it’s one of those things that may come easier and easier the more we practice and make it habit. God bless you as you pray and worship today!
Amen, Angel Terry! He is so worthy of our praise and worship! God bless you and praying for you and Al tonight!
that as I first
praise and worship You
the problem
may depart?
Amen, Debbie. I love the story in 2 Chronicles 20:1-23 … how God used praise to fix up the enemy. So panicked did they become through it that they turned in on one another and wiped each other out.
I also love “Honoring Him” – I really believe this is the key to God’s people honoring one another; yet over all, there seems to be a lack of it. Thanks for the blessing .
My needs may not depart, but they sure suddenly lose the weight and the burden becomes bearable and even manageable as we let go and let God.
Thanks for the reminder Deb.
We serve an amazing God!
Thank you for sharing the story in 2 Chronicles, Roger! Praise is more powerful than we realize . . .more important. I love the insight about honoring Him and praying with you for us to be a God honoring people, so that we can also know how to honor one another. God bless you as you go to Him today!
What a great point, Mentor Angela! Worshiping God has a way of putting our lives and our problems, back into the proper perspective! God bless you and your precious praise to your King!
Right subject focus could result to clearer picture. When we focus on Him we can capture the blessings behind the burdens.
And the best part, we are in God’s focus! This is not to say that we are a burden — at all times 🙂
Thank you for the blessing that you are Deb!
You have such a special wisdom and witness, sweet spoon! “when we focus on Him we can capture the blessings behind the burdens” . .. Thank you for that and for showing us that we are in His focus too! God bless you Rea, and love on you for me today!
