Finding Favor

“Now Esther had not yet revealed her kindred and her people just as Mordecai had charged her, for Esther obeyed the command of Mordecai as when she was brought up by him.”  Esther 2:20

Esther still obeyed Mordecai after she had found favor in the sight of all who saw her . . .after the king loved her and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Lord, we desire to please You and find favor by being obedient to You always.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Trusting To Obey

Source –

becomes a matter

of us
trusting Him

enough to
obey others

knowing He is
over them.

  1. Deb I love it! And I love how the Holy Spirit has drawn us to similar things in Esther. I was so struck in reading Esther by her willingness to seek wisdom, to listen to Mordecai and also Hegai. We can save ourselves so much by seeking wisdom and listening to those with experience, years etc. where we don’t yet have it.

So glad you’re doing Esther as I’ve felt God drawing me back to her story recently. Lots of love xx

  2. There is nothing like a child of God having favor upon their lives. Favor opens doors that man don’t want open, I love the favor of God on my life…And as i once heard TD Jakes said Favor ain’t fair? and the reason being is because people recognize favor on a person’s life that they can become jealous…

  3. It is so easy to allow our desire to please our family, friends and acquaintances to come before pleasing our Lord. Thanks for the very important reminder to always please God first and all others second. Lord bless you.

  4. Aimee . .that stood out to me too!!! I tried to imagine what it might be like and how scary to leave her home and be plunged into this different world and place. And how she listened and was humble through it all.
God bless you and all that He intends for you in the days ahead! love and prayers!

  5. God bless you, dear Desiray, as God continues to open doors for you and make a way, as you find favor in places you never imagined! I loved that “favor ain’t fair”!

  6. He won’t let us down! God bless you as you trust and obey Him today, Pastor Rob!

  7. Thank you for this picture of what I find to be the hardest kind of submission to Christ – being under the authority of those who He has ultimate authority over… May we all have humble hearts to be where He’s called us to. God bless your heart for Him!

  8. It IS a hard place, Ali. We couldn’t do it without Him and His grace! God bless you too, and your deep abiding love for Jesus!

  9. Another good one Deb.
This made me think of Col 1:18 “that in all things He might have the preeminence”. When we give Him His rightful place, we have no problem with obedience (unless of course, the order is against God’s known will, in which case we answer with Peter ‘we ought to obey God, rather than man’ Acts 5:29)

    We serve an amazing God!

  10. That says it wonderfully, Mentor Angela .. that in all things He might have the preeminence. 🙂 Thank you! And God bless you as you serve and obey such an amazing God!

  11. Sometimes it takes a leap of faith to step out into the unknown! However, that is the opportune time for God to show up and show out in our lives! For we walk by faith, and not by sight! Excellent post, Encouraging Debbie! Love and prayers!

  12. Oh I love how it is the opportune time for God to show up and show out in our lives. 🙂 Thank you for sharing that with us! God bless you, praising Him Paulette, and your faith that just keeps looking to Him! love and prayers!

  13. That is very good, and I struggle with that one, too. Lately, I’ve been praying for that in my own life.

  14. It is a struggle and kind of goes against our grain! So thankful that He helps us always! God bless you as you pray and seek Him today!
