“They Sought Their Listing”

“And these were  the ones who came up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Cherub, Addon and Immer, but they could not identify their father’s house nor their lineage, whether they were of Israel . . .” Nehemiah 7:61

“These sought their listing among those who were registered by genealogy, but it was not found; therefore they were excluded from the priesthood as defiled.”  Nehemiah 7:64

When we take a drink of water, we don’t want to find anything else floating around in it.

Oh Lord, we desire to be pure in thought, word and deed for You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Pure

There is much to read
to listen to, to watch

source – purewaterdistributors.comto listen to, to watch

that is good
and true

but not all of it’s pure
and of the Spirit

and able to work
in us for You.

  1. We definitely need to put good & Holy things into our minds — our brains should not be treated like a trash compactor. Great post, Deb.
    God Bless You!

  2. “…These sought their listing among those who were registered by genealogy…”

Thank God, my genealogy doesn’t come into play for my position in the royal priesthood. If it did, I’d surely be standing outside the Kingdom with some Dutch and Irish horse thieves or worse.

  3. I’m with Larry, today–plenty of loose scalawags in the woodpile, so I’m glad I got adopted into God’s royal fam!! God bless you Sis, faithful and true to bring us the GOOD stuff! Praying for you and Aubie as you head toward the weekend…love you, sis Caddo

  4. On this job we have to buy our water (you wouldn’t believe what all lives and swims in those potable tanks)!
It’s given me a whole new perspective on what’s pure.
Thank you, sweet friend, A good reminder as I start my night to keep the filter on!
    Beginning my Thursday prayers early,
    Debbie

  5. I think of when the first office computers arrived. They came with a sticker: “Garbage In = Garbage Out”.

I wonder if they knew they were using a Biblical principle? I doubt it!

  6. “…they were excluded from the priesthood as defiled.”

From exclusion to chosen … because of nothing but the pure blood of the Lord. Once defiled, now royal 1 Peter2:9. What a contrast! Can never get used to it. God’s best, Debbie.

  7. Great words today, Deb! The desire for purity seems to have diminished in people’s lives. God doesn’t desire to see any ‘specks’ floating around in my life, does He?

  8. Thank you, Dearest Deb

I don’t know the history of my people, but I am thankful that His blood now flows through me. Without Him I am all lost and undone… I am thankful that He can look at me, knowing where I’ve been and what I’ve done, and still love me enough to draw me to Purity…

Thanks to Him. my name is listed among those who are His! How can I ever thank Him enough?

    Blessings
    ann

  9. 🙂 God bless you, Lady D! What a vision you have given us with “trash compactor brains”! teehee!

  10. Thank you, Mr. Larry, for showing us Whose we are and where our listing can be found. 🙂 God bless you and all the Who’s!

  11. Thank you for your prayers for us, Sis Caddo Delight. We are in the final stretch!
I love that He adopts us and who we were or weren’t doesn’t stop Him. 🙂 God bless you muchly, and cover you with His love! love you!

  12. Thank you for your prayers . .and for sharing about potable water verses pure water. There’s a difference! haha!
God bless you as you keep letting in the good of God and releasing grace to us! love and prayers!

  13. That is so funny, Mentor Angela! Asking Jesus to help me with what goes in so only good stuff comes out! 🙂
God bless you and yours and your heart for Him!

  14. I LOVE your comment, Roger! Thank you! “because of nothing but the pure blood of the Lord. . .once defiled now royal.” Only God can do that! God bless you as you never get over all that God has done for you and us all!

  15. I loved your comment too, Ted! Praying for hearts and minds for Him that want to stay pure! God bless you and all He sees when He looks at you!

  16. God bless you, Ann full of grace and song, for your longing to be purely His and grateful always! Thank you so much for the song . .what a blessing and how perfectly it fits here! You have me thinking about no matter what has happened to us in our life, He can still draw us to purity. . .I’m thankful and humbled by that tonight! love you!

  17. I love it… “When we take a drink of water, we don’t want to find anything else floating around in it.” Like I told my wife when she saw a bug in her water…. “Don;t worry it just adds protein.” Needless to say she didn’t appreciate my wit! Lord bless.

  18. Haha! I can’t say I blame your wife for not wanting that protein drink! 🙂 God bless you and all that He makes pure in your life!
