Heavy Bondage

“. . . yet in spite of this I did not demand the governor’s provisions, because the bondage was heavy on this people.”  Nehemiah 5:18

Those in bondage can’t make provisions for others . . .or even for themselves.

Lord, please help us not demand more than we should of one another.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Praying Loose

Those in chains
cannot give
as we might want
to expect
until we pray
loose the bonds
with loving care
and respect.

  1. Jesus called Lazarus out of the tomb and then He told the people, “Loose him and let him go.” That’s still our duty today.

    Good reminder.

  2. Deb this is so beautiful and shows your compassionate heart, putting yourself in other’s shoes. I’ve been learning that we need to extend grace to others, and even ourselves, when situations and seasons mean that we can’t give out all that we’d like. God’s also been reminding me though that we all need seasons of breakthrough though so that we can lead others in to freedom – He’s been challenging me to pick up some of the things He’s promised me afresh and to really believe them.

Pray He would gently loose anything that is holding you back from being all that He created and destined you to be. Love and blessings xx

  9. A profound word Deb. May we each have the wisdom and heart to keep praying for those we love, who are in bondage and aren’t ready to truly break free yet. Who don’t yet realise how abundant their lives can be when hidden in Christ. And how much more they can give to the world when they receive from the One who can’t help but be generous.
    Thanks for the blessing,
    Ali
