“Let it be known to the king that we went into the province of Judah, to the temple of the great God, which is being built with heavy stones and timber is being laid in the walls, and this work goes on diligently and prospers in their hands.” Ezra 5:8
Employers like to see their workers keeping busy.
Lord, may we be found diligently seeking and serving You! And here’s a simple poem . . .
Found Out
If someone visited me today
and checked upon my heart
I pray they’d find it diligently
seeking You, Lord
building upon Your promises
faithfully following through
all that You had asked
and trusted me to do.
What better way to spend our lives but serving our Lord and seeing the eternal results to our labors! What a wonderful privilege it is to be able to serve our Lord with all our being! Thanks Deb for reminding us of this great need.
Amazingly I just did a podcast on this same topic last week “I called it ” Never Quit” so often we give up right before the blessing only later to wish we would of taken those extra steps.
“…I pray they’d find it diligently
seeking You, Lord…”
Instead of brashly proclaiming your diligence in seeking God, you reveal your humility with these few words. I love that about you. And that humility will bring you great honor in your life. God bless you.
God bless you, Deb
“Lord, may we be found diligently seeking and serving You! ”
Amen
Thanks for sharing! May He see me as “faithfully following through” on what I have promised.
Great post! (as always)…. Thanks for food for thought. Your posts always come at the right moment. Someday we may get to share stories over a cup of tea down here or milk and honey up there, but for now, I will say THANK YOU! for your obedience in sharing these treasures.
Huggs much!!
Pensive,
ann
it is the only way to live!
“Lord, may we be found diligently seeking and serving You!” – Amen!
I have NO doubts about your diligent heart, Sis Deb–but if anybody asks me, I’ll tell them, “I checked–she’s busy 24/7, praising-thanking-seeking-serving HIM.” May God give rest for your spirit each and everyday, sweet sister. love, sis Caddo
Diligence, zeal, enthusiasm, faithfulness, commitment . . . these, and many more should be the visible marks of every child of God.
Thank you for showing these qualities here – a true example for all who read.
I pray they’d find it diligently
seeking You, Lord
building upon Your promises
faithfully following through
Good placement of the diligently seeking heart before the activity of “doing” for the Lord.
I often have frustrated myself in worrying about what sort of service I ought to be rendering when I’ve not yet been properly adjusted on a heart level.
Deb, too long away. I love this post. Diligently seeking and resting him is my front and center goal these days in my circumstance. The larger He is in my ‘viewfinder’, the more He blocks out my view of the painful things in my life. Thank you for this, Deb.
Amen! Longing to do His will more and more.
Love you 😀
