No Longer A Burden

“Then he said to the Levites who taught all Israel, who were holy to the LORD: ‘Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, built.  It shall no longer be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve the LORD your God and His people Israel.'” 2 Chronicles 35:3

What a relief it must’ve been to put the holy ark back into the house of the LORD.

Lord, we thank You that You are not a burden for us to carry, but indeed it is You who carries us.  And here is a simple poem . . .

Let Me

source –

You don’t have to carry
Me like a burden
the weight of judgment heavy
on your mind
but let Me into
your heart as Savior
where I’ll be Light and Strength
My yoke, loving kind.

*Special prayer request for our blogger friend Bee (Queen of Everything). Bee is undergoing back surgery today. Thank you for keeping her in prayer!

  1. Oh Sis, I LOVE this poem–it may be my new fave, or added to the collection. It’s so perfect, so simple. We truly don’t need to worry anymore about the burden of judgment–Jesus took it all away. And He truly is Light and Strength in my heart–always so kind and loving to me. Thank you, Jesus, that You knew what we needed–and You provide the abundant blessing for us Everyday!! God bless you, my beautiful beautiful Sis–and Aubie–and Bee. love, sis Caddo forever

  2. I carried huge burdens, burdens which I often thought I could carry no longer – burdens which weighed me down and engulfed me.

Then, one night, I heard the voice of my (then unknown) God and He continued to speak the same words, over and over and over, without let up for a whole week . . . . . and then I HEARD Him. Yes, I had heard Him all week, but 8th June 1958 I not only heard, but His voice penetrated my whole being. Those inexplicable words made sense!

That night, my whole life changed. I trusted Christ as my sin bearer, who paid the penalty for MY sin, reconciling me with the omnipotent, creator Father God, who adopted me into His own family as His beloved, blood-bought child. Those burdens I had carried for years? They disappeared! My Saviour took them and I was free!

    What an amazing Saviour!

  3. Yes – what a picture of relief, as you pointed out! As humans we believe we must carry loads to compensate for all our sin and shame. How wonderful that he takes that need away.
Thanks for your God-inspired words, once again.

  4. This posting reminds me of Matt 11:28-30 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.
\What a precious promise our Lord gives to us! Thanks for such an encouraging posting.

  5. I’m glad we believers, the royal priesthood, do not have to carry an ark or wear special robes or perform dogmatic rigmarole to please our Lord. Yuck! I would have hated that. So, I’m glad we just have to say, “Yes, Lord.”

  6. I’ll be praying for Bee!

    Great words today! 🙂

  7. Thanks sis for posting about your friend I will say a prayer for her when I mention others in my prayer

  8. Blessings to you, Dearest Deb

And the good thing is, He is still calling us to toss our cares His way. How great is our God!
