Torn

“Now it happened, when the king heard the words of the Law, that he tore his clothes.”  2 Chronicles 34:19

Prophetic words and visions have been given about America.

Oh Lord, may we tear away our pride and humble ourselves, weeping before You in the state we find ourselves in.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Now That We’ve Heard

We tear away at our pretense
and weep before You Lord
for You are great and we have wondered
far from Your word.

Oh may we be humbled
by what we’ve just heard
and seek for Your mercy
here upon this earth.

  1. It’s true. We are pretentious, and we need to repent. The other day I read a post that expressed the same thoughts. Here is the link:

    Thank you, Deb.

  2. ONe of the most important aspects of the Christin life is to continue to serve Him in a spirit of humility. Sad to say, for myself at least, it is one of the most difficult of our responsibilities. When we see the Lord blessing in my ministries, at times, it is hard for me to remember it is ALL fo Him, I really deserve none of the credit… Much like a pen doesn’t deserve any credit for the poem that it has just written by the hand of the poet.

  3. “…Oh may we be humbled
    by what we’ve just heard…”

It always come down to hearing the voice of God in whatever way He chooses to speak to us.

O Lord, give us ears to hear.

  4. What a timely message we need to be torn away from the junk in our lives..I believe you and I are on the same page today with devotion topics…God bless you sis

  5. What a beautiful and humble heart-cry, Sis Deb. It seems to always come down to my ignorance and pride, or my ignorance about my pride–and always I need more of His mercy and love to guide me. So thankful that He is quick to answer with Supply. God bless you, and everyone at church today–much love, sis Caddo

  7. >> “We tear away at our pretense”
Oh how good we are at ‘covering up’ or at least ignoring things we should be addressing.

Lord, forgive us when we fail to hear Your promptings and keep on prodding until we respond, because we KNOW that having a clean heart before You is the only place we desire.

We serve a truly amazing God.

  8. That humility thing . . oh yes. It’s hard for me to stay there, in that humility. Especially when things are going good . .you’re right. God bless you as you continue to serve Him and stay humble before Him!

  9. Another really good insight , Mr. Larry . .”.it comes down to hearing the voice of God in whatever way He chooses”. He once spoke to me through tadpoles. God bless you as you humbly listen and pray.
