“Now when he was in affliction, he implored the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers
and prayed to Him, and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.” 2 Chronicles 33:12-13
Manasseh was over the top when it came to sins, yet still God listened and forgave him.
Oh Lord, let us humble ourselves greatly and pray. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Only Jesus
What kind of heart can be broken
a million times a day
over what we do
over what we say
and yet listen and forgive
when we humble ourselves and pray
only the heart of Jesus
is made that way.
Thank you, Jesus!
There is no sin too great that He cannot forgive us ! Thanking the Lord for His grace and His Word. Also thanking Him for your faithfulness! Another wonderful posting… much needed
i am so glad we are forgiven and that we have constant love from our God, beautiful words Deb
“… Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.” (2 Chronicles 33:13)
We should all be encouraged by the testimony of King Manasseh. His reign was the longest in the history of Judah and was Judah’s worst king. Manasseh was so bad that his iniquities were not pardoned by the Lord upon his repentance but instead they were continually remembered until God defeated Judah and carried the nation away to Babylonia. Now, that’s bad!
And yet, God listened to Manasseh’s plea and forgave Him. Wow! What a wonderful Father we serve.
Great poem. Put on a wild CAT hat and go to a park today…maybe eat a hot dog or two, okay?
This touched me in a special way. There was just something about the way you put this, and the timing of my reading it. Thank you so much.
Love,
Theresa
God will never turn his ears from a broken and contrite heart…He’s sees repentance coming just like He sees the Prodigal son
Thankful the Lord forgives my staggering steps! Great Post, Deb!
God Bless you & yours!
Oh isn’t this Wonderful, Sis Deb!!! Yes, I’m so thankful–that I can come to Him over and over, and that His love and forgiveness are the “forever” kind. The God of Second Chances–and 2 Million or more chances! God bless you, and everyone here at church today–abundantly! love, sis Caddo
May we never lose the wonder and amazement at the bottomless depths of His forgiveness (bottomless in this life anyway, but if not accepted in this life, the offer expires when the person does).
>> “What kind of heart can be broken a million times a day”
This is the very thought that should keep us from the need for forgiveness. A vision of His grief over our disobedience should be sufficient for us to cry out for help and thereby gain victory, turning His grief into joy.
What an amazing God!
He loves you, Patricia! God bless you and yours!
God bless you, Pastor Rob, for the assurance that no sin is too great or bad for Him to forgive. Loving your Zombie series!
That constant love is such a wonderful blessing . . .so needed in our lives where everything seems to change. God bless you, Angel Terry, as you are loved by Him today!
“Now that’s bad!” 🙂 You make me smile, Larry! That was what I was thinking, in that he really really went too far . .but God still listened to him. Blew me away and gave me hope too!
God bless you as you serve Him and make His heart glad today!
p.s. Well, I did go to a park today! 🙂 No hats or hotdogs though.. .
Love you wonderful woman of the Word! Only He knows why these things happen, when we need a little something, and He faithfully gives it. Praying for you so much more encouragement today!
God bless you and all the ways you seek to please and love Him today!
Dear Desiray . . .I am liking thinking about Him seeing repentance coming! What a great thing that is!! What a great God! God bless you as He sees your heart for Him!
God bless you too, Lady D, and all your steps towards Him!
The God of the 2 million or more chances . .. I love that Sis Caddo Delight! And I love being able to come to Him over and over too, even about the same stuff. God bless you abundantly Sis, and your big heart of love! love you and thank you for being here!
Mentor Angela . ..yes, yes, yes, to the thought of grieving Him being enough to turn us away from disobedience and into His arms. Praying that one! May His joy be great in His children. God bless you as you cry out and bless Him with your love today!
you are welcome Debbie…
Dearest Deb –
It’s so good to finally ‘see you’ again. The internet seems to be momentarily smiling on me. 😀
I pray to have a breakable heart.
One that is slow to remember any offense and oh so quick to forgive.
The alternative, a hard heart is too heavy for me to carry.
Beautiful and encouraging as always, dear FF.
Debbie
Oh it’s good to see you too, sweet gracious FF! A heart that breaks is better than one that never does . . .what a thought, Debbie! A hard heart does sound too heavy to carry . . .and I’m carrying around enough as it is. 🙂 God bless you as you guard tonight! love and prayers!
