“You Exceed The Fame”

“Then she said to the king, ‘It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.

However I did not believe their words until I came and saw with my own eyes, and indeed, the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me.  You exceed the fame of which I heard.'”  2 Chronicles 9: 5-6

The Queen of Sheba was skeptical of Solomon until she came to him.

Lord, may those who are skeptical come to You and see for themselves, for You exceed anything that we can say about You.  And here is a simple poem . . .

More Day After Day

There is no way
to describe Him  exactly

words like peace, love
are just words

until they are spoken
by Jesus into your life

and you believe
begin to see

exceedingly more of Him
day after day after day.

  1. Oh, Yes–It’s SO True! What a wonderful poem, Sis Deb–full of delight and excitement and Joy for new revelations of Him, everyday! Jumping up an down with skipping heart–where He lives in me. God bless you with more, this weekend–love, sis Caddo

  2. Thank you for always sharing and showing me more of Him in you and your life, Sis Caddo! And thank you for bringing the JOY! 🙂 love you and God bless you and your heart that just wants more of Him!

  3. “…There is no way
    to describe Him exactly…”

Authors generally describe or give clues what their heroes look like so we can picture them in our minds. In the Bible, we know a few things about many characters, such as David had a ruddy complexion or Saul was the tallest man in Israel, etc. But with Jesus, we have no clues what He looked like as a man.

Yet, each of us know Him in a special way. And each of us would describe Him in that special way.

    Great post.

  4. “exceedingly more of him”.

  5. Deb,

You framed these verses in a very Biblical way…. for those who are skeptical …. come to the Lord and see, just as Thomas came to Him and felt the wounds in His hands. Lord bless.

  6. Wonderful point and insight, Larry! He is to each of us beyond amazing. God bless you and yours this weekend!

  7. God bless you Tammy, and your family. I like there being more and more of Him!

  8. Yes . . .when we want to know about anything, what do we do? We check it out. Praying more and more who question will come and check Him out for themselves and see Who He really is!
God bless you as you keep coming to Him and seeing more!

  9. Amen! If people only knew that God reveals Himself through a personal relationship, they would run to Him. Or is that just me! 🙂
    God Bless You!

  10. I think you really said it so well! It’s not that whole list of do’s and don’ts. It’s in those “come to Me’s, do not fears, and I love you’s”. Thank you Lady D and God bless you as you run!

  11. Deb, I love this! Jesus exceeds anything we can say about Him – how true that is. Our mere words can never be enough. The best we can do is introduce Him to others, then once they meet Him they will see how wonderful He is. Peace, Linda

  12. God bless you, Linda! So glad you are here and hoping your weekend is going good! 😀 Oh I love that, that once they meet Him, they will see how wonderful He is! Praying for more and more of those meetings for those who are wondering and not sure of how much He loves them.
love and prayers and thanks a bunches for stopping by!

  13. >> “begin to see exceedingly more of Him day after day after day”

How very true! There is ALWAYS something more! His mercies are new every morning. He so often surprises us. Even in well-read and memorised Scripture, He can bring out a new understanding.

The old song says “More about Jesus would I know” and we can constantly sing it, because there is NO END to knowing more and more of Him.

    What an amazing God!

  14. I love that about Him, mentor Angela, that there is always something MORE! 🙂 God bless you as you sing and know no end to His mercy and love for you today! love and prayers!

  15. Beautiful – as you say, Jesus makes ‘just words’ come alive. Wonderful thoughts.

  16. Oh, yes He does do that , doesn’t He! And your comment has me thinking about how He IS the Word . .alive in us. 🙂 God bless you and yours and all the exceedingly more He is to you today! Thank you for coming by!

  17. Yes! What a great truth!
