As One

” . . .indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying:

For He is good,
For His mercy endures forever,

that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.”
2 Chronicles 5:13

When listening to music, we might hear the lead singer’s voice standing out, or one of the musical instruments, more than the others.

Oh Lord, may your people be as one sound praising You!  And here is a simple poem . . .

One Sound

Oh may we gather
together as one

to worship the Father
the Spirit, the Son

one voice, one heart
one mind, one sound

that we might witness
Your glory come down.

  1. Oh Sis Deb–I get such “warm” shivers, imagining that cloud of His Glory!! And so wonderful to think my imperfect voice will be swallowed up amid the many praising our beloved, longed for Lord. Mmmm–happy heart. God bless you, dear one! love, sis Caddo

  2. i am often a person who hears the beat over the words. i usually don’t know the name of the song if it is a song of today, but slowly after listening to it, i finally start to hear the words

  3. Great posting on the need for unity! I find there are two extremes… for many, beacuse of a fault finding and critical attitude they can never come to unity with other Christians. On the other extreme, we have people compromising the truths of God’s Word to justify a worldly, sinful unity.

Throughout the years I have come to the conclusion that unity is greatly desired but very difficult to attain. Thanks for a great posting reminding us of the need to strive for a unified local church, family and even family of God. Lord bless Debbie. Thanks for another very important posting.

  4. So wonderful that we can sing praised to Him because He overflows us with His endless love! Thank you Deb!!

  5. Sister Debbie it’s only when the body comes together in unity for where there is unity there is freedom and liberty..Thanks for sharing this my dear have a blessed day..and thank you for your support to the Ministry.

  6. “…for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God…”

Most of us hunger for what we already have. This is especially true of the glory of the Lord filling the house of God. We believers are the house of God and His glory already does fill us. So, we just need to learn how to allow His glory to flow out of our inner beings to others around us.

And when that finally happens, then:

    “…we might witness
    Your glory come down…”

  7. Beautiful!!

    “one voice, one heart
    one mind, one sound”

True unity of the Body! God bless you! 😀

    (PS-thanks for using the pic!)

  8. You’ve covered it all Deb – trinity, unity and “that we might witness
Your glory come down”. My mind is flying off imagining that glory coming down!

    What an amazing God!

  9. I have just come from our minister’s conference. Our final meeting was on the need to build unity for the Holy Ghost to move.

  10. Beautiful!

  11. Wonderful, Dearest Deb!

Oh that we would experience this today!

  12. Debbie, this is lovely. I know every Sunday, we worship and praise in the UCC – our band makes every effort to include the congregation, and no one person, even a soloist, gets an entire piece to themselves. It’s “all in” on the choruses, and lots of eye contact from the band, with shouts of joy. SO great to be part of the band! Amy

  13. It is an amazing and wonderful thought about being swallowed up and a part of one praise song to Him! God bless you and your lovely happy heart, Sis Caddo Delight!

  14. You must be more tuned into the instruments, angel Terry! How wonderful! God bless you as you praise Him and lift Him high today!

  15. i must be, i always did like the beat of music

  16. Rob, thank you so much for your comment, which was close to my heartbeat in this . . that unity and oneness in Christ that we long for . . .but is elusive. God bless you as you keep helping us to think of Him!

  17. Thank you, Tom and God bless you as you praise Him today!

  18. Thank you , dear Desiray, for sharing about where there is unity there is freedom and liberty. Really beautiful! God bless you as you praise Him as your One and only!

  19. Thank you, Larry, for always inspiring us and giving us that insight that we need into a verse. I loved what you said about His glory, that we already have, but need to learn how to allow it to flow out of us. God bless you as you witness His glory and are conduit of it as well!

  20. Thank you, Ted, for letting me use the picture! It looks great! 🙂
And God bless you as you desire unity of the Body too!

  21. You are always so ready to praise Him and think of Him , mentor Angela! Love that about you! God bless you as you watch and see His glory displayed! love and prayers!

  22. Thank you so much for your comment, Pastor J. It encouraged me that I was on the right track with Him about this! 🙂 God bless you!

  23. So good to see beautiful you here, Linda! 🙂 God bless you as you praise Him!

  24. I know, sweet Ann full of grace and song. I don’t know how it can happen . . .but with God, all things are possible, eh? God bless you and all you experience with Him today! love and prayers!

  25. I love thinking about you being a part of the band, praising Him. Those are precious and special times, for sure! God bless you and your joy in Him! love you!

  26. Awesome post, Deb. I love how different we all are and yet fit together in the body of Christ!
    God Bless You!

  27. Lady D to the rescue! Thank you. sweet one, for the reminder that we ARE different, but yet one in Him . .. not clones, but that something amazing He does when His Spirit is inside us. God bless you and yours. Praying things stay a little tamer there . . .but then what is the fun in that? haha!

  28. I love your heart!

  29. Love you, wonderful woman of the word! God bless you and your heart for Him!
