“And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the first born from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:18
Someone has to go first.
Thank You, Jesus, for being our Line Leader, our Preeminent One! And here’s a simple poem . . .
You are
above everything
and in everything
You are
our first born
full of glory
our preeminent
Shining Star.
I forgot to mention that we finished 1 Chronicles and get to
go back to the New Testament for Colossians! 🙂 Only, it’s
really short!
Oh I am very grateful that Jesus chose to go first, ahead of us–to lead the way in all things, and into Eternal Glory. Love the “shining Star” part, especially!! Praying I can be a better “follower”, as I go along. And thank you so much, my sweet Sis, for praying me through once again. So much love to you, sis Caddo Delight (1st in pew)
Do you remember playing Follow the Leader? I was better at it when I was little, but I’m working at it! Thank you, dear Deb!
You get a gold star for 1st pew! 🙂 When I was going to church, I was always a balcony sitter. haha! In the back of the back. God bless you as He goes before you and paves the way! love you, our one and only Sis Caddo Delight!
God bless you, gracious one, as you follow Him. I think you are doing really really good at this . . .and leaving grace prints for all of us to follow too. 🙂 love and prayers! Hope the storms quiet down some!
Oh Sis, then we’d have to sit separately–I don’t do heights very well! ha ha
Reading this makes me think of that verse that says and the last shall be first and the first shall be last…
happy Mother’s Day to you sis….
Yes, happy mother’s day!
What a great thought… to take the time to simply thank Him for His preeminence! Lord bless you.
I love the way you exalt the Lord, and lift Him high. I gladly give Him the chief seat, on the throne of my heart!!!
Mother’s Day, Encouraging Debbie!
Paulette
“For in him we live, and move, and have our being…(Acts 17:28)”
He is our preeminent Shining Star.
Great poem, Deb.
God Bless You!
It’s true! Thank you for reminding us. 🙂
Love,
Theresa
Hiya Deb,
His being the pre-eminant one, going first and setting an example for us of how to live means everything. He “could” have called ten thousand angels, he could have crushed satan in a second, he could have destroyed us all for our sin, yet he chose to wash our feet in humility. I am glad he went before us to show us that. Thank you sis!. Jim
I love that verse, dear Desiray! Praying for you as you follow Him to the park each week! God bless you and yours! Happy Mother’s Day to you too!
Same to you, Tammy! Have a great day and God bless you!
Your posts are rubbing off on me! 🙂 And that’s a good thing. God bless you, Rob, as you put Him first and above all else!
God bless you, sweet praising Paulette, and all the ways you bow to His preeminence in your life! love and prayers for your days!
Oh yes He is! 😀 God bless you, Larry, as you honor Him and give Him glory today! You bless me!
Happy Mother’s Day, Lady D! God bless you and keep the snakes away!
Thank you so much for being here, sweet and wonderful woman of the Word! Your love for Him and His preeminence blesses me! Happy Mother’s Day! love you!
I love that Jim, how His going first means everything! We would all be lost without Him. God bless you and yours as you worship Him today!
He is our preeminent Shining Star…
my heart is resting on this one because in the night sky lately there has been ‘one’ pre-eminant star … It so reminds me of the Lord being first for us in all things. We notice Him first and then we see the host of believers (like the other stars)coming alongside Him… praise His name!
I always enjoy to visit with you here Deb…you are so steadfast in Him.
Oh what a precious comment, our faith filled fisherlady! I think I should’ve checked with you for a better photo to go with this. 🙂 The more I do this, the more I need to do this . ..the more He keeps changing me. it’s easy to be steadfast when the One we’re steadfast in is Jesus! 🙂
God bless you and many Happy Mother’s day wishes!!!
love and prayers and coming for a visit to you!
This is wonderful! The childhood concept of a Line Leader is so sweet and so uplifting. It makes me feel comforted that I don’t have to do that job myself. I feel better. Thank you! ; )
One less job to do is always a good feeling for us! haha! God bless you, Linda, as He leads you on in beautiful ways! love and hugs!
Thanks, Deb 🙂
My mom had a wall hanging when we were children. I didn’t know what the word meant then, but it seemed rather important. Now that I am older and have a relationship with Him, it is my daily desire to make Him first (and last ;-)) in all I do.
Blessings,
ann
P.S. I have enjoyed the ride! Excitedly looking forward to what comes next. May God continue to bless the work of your hands
Thanks Deb – another great one.
Prominant? – no, no, NO!
Preeminent? – yes, yes, YES!
He is THE One, the ONLY One, and He is not – and cannot be – satisfied with less.
He ALONE is worthy.
What an amazing God!
I love hearing how your mom poured into your young life. 🙂 God bless you Ann full of grace and song, as you keep Him first in your life and heart! I am so blessed to have you along for the ride. Wouldn’t want to go with out you!
Oh I love the comparison to prominent (NO) but preeminent (YES)! Thank you, mentor Angela and God bless you as you praise the One and only who is worthy! love and prayers!
