By His Hand Upon Me

“All this,” said David, “the LORD made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans.”  1 Chronicles 28:19

I don’t understand everything in His written Word.

Lord, I trust You to help me understand what You want me to each day.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

When I Need To Know

By Your Hand upon me
I will understand

all that You
desire me to

of what is written
what is planned.

  1. Deb this is such a beautiful thought today – His hand upon us opening our eyes, causing us to understand what is beyond us. Makes me feel so peaceful – I don’t have to figure all these plans out, He will reveal them. Bless you dear Deb!

  2. It is so true Deb! the Holy Spirit illuminates the word we need at the moment we need it!

  3. “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” (James 1: 5)

No one totally understand His word. We all must trust that His Spirit will guide us.

    Great post…as usual.

  4. Like the song says…”morning by morning new mercies I see”. Everyday He reveals something new to me if I will only look. God Bless! 🙂

  5. Sis Deb–I really like this one A LOT! I can just feel His hand on my head, like in your picture–It is so comforting, warm and strong and sure. Thank you for this word today. Praying for you to be released from fatigue, and refreshed and renewed by His life and joy. Much love to you, sis Caddo

  6. Hi Encouraging Debbie,

Trying to make the rounds a little at a time right now. It’s great to be here today! I also thought of how God will illuminate or enlighten us when we need to understand something. God will also give us, for specific moments in time, “a word of wisdom,” or “a word of knowledge,” to share with someone, which are different from general wisdom and knowledge. Great topic, Debbie! May God continue to enlighten you, as you share with us out of His word! Praying for your renewed strength.

  7. “I don’t understand everything in His written Word.”

I’m glad I don’t understand everything in His word, Debbie, because I know I’d be swell-headed if I did.

You’re work is a blessing, always … humbling too!

  8. What can I say? You’ve said it so plainly and yet so full of meaning. Our great God gives us understanding of what we need to know, when we need to know it.

    What an amazing God!

  9. I love it when I understand that it’s okay if I don’t understand. 😀 God bless you as He reveals His will for you, day by day! love and prayers!

  10. Now just to get that through my heart and head! 😀 God bless you, Pastor J, and all He illuminates to you today!

  11. Well, great comment . . .as usual. 😉 God bless you Larry, and all that your generous God helps you understand today!

  12. Oh you are so right Ted . . .it might help if I’m available for Him to show me! God bless you and the new mercies He brings your way each day!

  13. What a beautiful description you have given, of how it feels when His hand is on us. Love that! And love your prayers! Though really tired today, it never got un-doable! Yay Jesus! God bless you, sweet Sis Caddo Delight, as you rest in His hands today! love you!

  14. What a blessing for you to be here, praising Paulette! You go easy though, okay? You are precious to us and our worship leader. We need you!
Thank you for sharing about how we can receive a special word of Knowledge or wisdom to share with someone. Those definitely come from Him and His hand on us. 🙂
God bless you and keep you, covering you and lifting you up today!

  15. Giggling about that swelled head. 🙂 I hear you. Thanks for showing us the blessing in not understanding! haha! God bless you, Roger, and the special understanding that He gives you and you share!

  16. It takes a lot of pressure off this way . .. His way. 🙂 God bless you as you ask Him what You need to understand and He lovingly tells you! love and prayers!

  17. His hand is upon us, thank you!

  18. God bless you, Tom, and all that He brings to you today!

  19. Deb, It’s been too long since I’ve been over to read your simple – but profound – poetry. This morning I prayed that God would help me set aside an activity that was wasting time (while I eat my lunch) that could be spent reading blogs and sharing my gift of encouragement. As I sat down to eat my lunch, I recalled my prayer and He was faithful to set me on the right path. Then I come here and am so blessed by your simple words of truth. What an awesome God we serve! 🙂 Peace, Linda

  20. I am so blessed and encouraged Linda, that you came by today. It made me get all teary . . I love how God works! God bless you and yours this weekend! love and prayers!

  21. I need to ask God what He would have me do that would please Him today. Your poem and commentary seem like such a simple thing, but in real life, what an excruciating challlenge that can be. Good stuff.

  22. God bless you, dear Linda. You DO please God. Your faith pleases Him immensely. And your real life is an enormous challenge in itself. love and prayers and hugs!
