“Moreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, stringed instruments and cymbals.” 1 Chronicles 25:1
Who but God would think of prophesying with harps?
Lord, we lift up our musicians as they birth new prophetic music today. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Songs are His mouthpiece
to us from His heart
recording what has happened
prophesying what will start
more than entertainment
or something pleasing to hear
music is God’s voice
telling us He’s near.

Oh, I SO love this, Sis–love the music which signals He is near to my heart and mind! Praying for you a good Monday!! God bless you–love, sis Caddo
You got first pew! 🙂 Music really ministers to us . . .I just didn’t know it could prophesy too, until Larry mentioned it in the comments before. And then I read this. God bless you and speak to you in beautiful ways today! love and prayers!
Deb this poem is so beautiful! I know it can be tempting to get stuck on our favourite songs but I’m sure the Psalms tell us to sing a new song for this very reason – prophetic words for new seasons of worship! (Think you might inspire a future Sunday Psalms post 🙂 )
Love how you bring us treasure from the verses I would often skim over!
Bless you Deb and may you know Him near to you today xx
Praise the Lord Deb!
Yes Zamar is a Hebrew word for praise… which means to vibrate the strings of an instrument or the vocal chords.
“Let the instruments speak” When one plays an instrument in the sacred presence or anointing of the Holy Spirit… it helps to bring forth the Song of the Lord from one’s heart as David did on his harp. This is a spiritual song unto the Lord which may also bring forth a prophetic song unto the people… declaring His heart and mind to them.

Blessings in our beloved Lord Yeshua from Susan
Debbie,
You brought out a really interesting point…. think of all the different ways that the Lord can present truths about Himself to the lost world. Our speech, actions, nature around us, The Bible, music, the list goes on and on…. you’ve really got me thinking! Thanks! Lord bless
Music is God’s voice and more than entertainment! Powerful thought Deb! So many things outside of music are also God’s voice and not just entertainment for us! LORD make music through us and give us the ears for your voice in the gifts of others!
“Now bring me someone who can play the harp.” While the harp was being played, the power of the LORD came upon Elisha,” (2 Kings 3:15 NLT)
Often, music and prophecy intertwine themselves so the Presence of the Lord can invade earth and His people. May it happen more and more.
very nice, i love the sounds of the harp
I love thinking about this and praying about it . .”prophetic words for new seasons of worship.” Your Sunday Psalm posts are so good! God bless you as you sing new songs for this season! love and prayers!
Thank you for sharing so much about this, Susan, AND your photo and web site! 🙂 And thank you for the songs you bring us! Sorry about the link not working . ..but thanks again for providing one that does! God bless you as you listen and obey His voice today! love and prayers!
There is no limit to Him and what He will do and does do, to help us know Him! God bless you, Rob, as you think of Him!
Your comment reminds me that He is everywhere, Tom. God bless you as you hear His voice today and use your gifts so others can hear Him too.
I’m with you, Larry, praying that it happen more and more. God bless you and thank you for that verse in 2 Kings! God bless you as you let Him speak to you and through you today.
Me too, Terry! I’m not sure if they still do , but once when I had my daughter at the hospital for lab work, while we waited, a woman came with a harp and played music close to the waiting area! How beautiful! God bless you, Terry, as He sings over you and Al today!
Thank you, Dearest Deb!
“Lord, we lift up our musicians as they birth new prophetic music today”
Amen!
I’ve only heard a harp played once during a Christmas production. Beautiful and ‘strangely’ calming. … Somehow music brings me closer to Him. Thankful He is near. 😉
@ Larry : “Often, music and prophecy intertwine themselves so the Presence of the Lord can invade earth and His people. May it happen more and more.”
May it happen more and more indeed.
Blessings,
ann

God Bless You!
Thank you, Ann full of grace and song, for such a beautiful song. There is something about thinking of His Presence invading the earth and His people that has me crying and praying tonight. God bless you, as you avail yourself to Him and all that He desires of you today. love and prayers for your week!
God bless you too, dear Lady D. I hear Him in your photos and posts! 🙂
I love this because of the harps and because of the question; who but God?
🙂 And who but Tammy would love that question? God bless you and send you some special music for your soul today!
God chooses to bless us in many and varied ways, and appreciation of music is one. Isn’t it amazing that He has filled our short time on earth with so much beauty? (Maybe to compensate for the evil around us?)
We are one day closer to the time when we will be free from the very presence of sin and will know the absolute joy of being in the presence of our Lord.
What an amazing God!
Your comment just blessed me and took me away from any of the stress that wants to burrow into my mind. Instead I get to just rejoice and lift up praise to our amazing God! love and prayers and blessings galore, Angela!
Thanks Susan! Enjoyed this! 🙂
