Instruments of Praise

” . . .and four thousand praised the Lord with musical instruments, ‘which I made,’ said David, ‘for giving praise.'”  1 Chronicles 23:5

I don’t play any musical instruments.

Lord, I desire to be an instrument of praise to You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

An Instrument

Your hand
is on me
because of You
I sing
Your breath
fills me
with melody for
my King.

  1. I don’t play a musical instrument (but four of my five boys do and two of them play just about every instrument). I don’t sing either – well not in tune – but I do love to sing, and one day (soon) I will sing beautiful praises in perfect pitch!

Just as you say, Deb, while we don’t PLAY an instrument, we rejoice to BE an instrument in the hands of the Lord.

    What a tremendous privilege!
    What an amazing God!

  2. Isn’t that lovely! “Your hand is on me”–I love that, Sis! What a comfort to me as I, too, pray and rejoice to be one of His instruments. Wonderful word, Sis–God bless you this night. love, sis Caddo

  3. YEAH!!1 i love this.

  4. 🙂

  5. Each of us is a fine instrument in the Master’s hands. Too often I think we want to play a different tune than what He has in mind for us at the time.

  6. fills me with melody . . . I loved that!
    God Bless You!

  7. very good usage of the instrument

  8. Thank God, anyone can be a member on the praise team for Jesus. Otherwise, nonsingers like me would be tossed out.

  9. sometimes sis don’t you wish you could just sit in heaven for one day and just listen to the praises of the Angels singing praises to our GOD…I know that is a day I am looking forward to because my voice will be singing those praises as well. Glory to God

  10. We CAN praise, can’t we? 🙂 In the key of Jesus! God bless you, mentor Angela, as He plays a wonderful melody through your life today! One that has “what an amazing God” in the refrain. love and prayers!

  11. You are such a special instrument of His, Sis, bringing joyful songs and praise to Him, encouraging us! God bless you as you play today! love you!

  12. Thank you for coming by, for being such a great instrument! 🙂 God bless you muchly!

  13. God bless you, beautiful one, as you praise Him today!

  14. Oh, good one Ted! Maybe the being “in His hands” part will helps us play the tune most pleasing to Him! God bless you!

  15. God bless you, dear Lady D, and all the ways you praise Him! Cameras are instruments of praise too!

  16. God bless you, Terry today, as you stay in His hands and offer us the music only you can. love and prayers!

  17. You are SO on the team! 😀 Not only an instrument of praise and prophecy, but of humor too! God bless you as you play on, Larry!

  18. What a yearning your comment stirred up in me, dear Desiray! I want to be practicing that kind of praising now. 🙂 God bless you as you sing for Him today! You are a beautiful instrument of His . . .fearless!

  19. ah Debbie thank you so much I pray you will be just that matter of fact you have already said that is your desire for you spoke it with your mouth God listened to what you said and He will bring it to pass in your life…when we desire to be an instrument of praise for Him He will continue to give us that desire until it is fulfilled. AMEN

  20. Thank you, Dearest Deb 🙂

“Lord, I desire to be an instrument of praise to You”
How wonderful to be instruments of His praise.

This song came to mind immediately after I read your post today.

“You are the words and the music
You are the song that I sing
    You are the melody
    You are the harmony
Praise to Your Name I will bring.

    You are my Mighty God
You are the Lord of Lords
You are the King of all kings.
    Now I return to You
The love You gave to me
You are the song that I sing.”

  21. I notice that the singers went before the musicians anyway, Debbie … so you’re out in front. That’s the way it should be too! Sing away – in time, out of time; in tune, out of tune.

    Bless you

  22. Oh Roger, you got me laughing. I don’t sing either . . .where does that put me now? Way, way out in front, so no one can hear me. haha! God bless you as you sing and play for Him!

  23. So thankful for you Ann full of grace and song! You definitely got your praise on! 🙂 God bless you and all the music He makes with you and your life!

  24. Your wish should be all of ours! To want to be an instrument for the Lord’s glory! What a wonderful blessing it would be! Thanks for a encouraging posting.

  25. I think you are a great instrument of His, Rob! A shiny one, full of His light and love! God bless you as you praise Him today!
