Bringing Him Treasures

“And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

Also from Tibhath and from Chun, cities of Hadadezer, David brought a large amount of bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze Sea, the pillars, and the articles of bronze.”  1 Chronicles 18:17-18″

We tend to collect things.

Lord, I desire to bring to You all that I find today, so You can make the most of it.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Look, Daddy

Moments, words
pictures , looks
all add up
to give our day worth
and I don’t want
to squander
what You’ve given
to discover
so I’ll run with it
to show You
just what I’ve found.

  1. Oh Sis–this is so beautiful, rich and tender. Yes, I love to run to the Father with my little moments! God bless your night/day with all He has for you. Love and prayers, sis Caddo

  2. Wow, Debbie! It’s very true, it’s moments, words and actions that give our day worth. Lovely simple words.

  3. Me too, Sis! (well, some days it’s a hobble more than a graceful run) I don’t always know the importance of what I’ve found. I need His insight and loving appraisal. God bless you too and bring you special treasures for you and Him to consider together! love and prayers!

  4. Oh MIke, so good to see you! God bless you and all those times and moments that He wants you to share with Him!

  5. Deep and rich! There is no doubt, Deb, that our amazing God gives you words to encourage and/or challenge us. Thank you for being His finely tuned instrument.

He gives us so much that it would be easy to miss a lot, and thereby miss out on His blessings. May we see His hand in everything that happens and may we give Him praise for it all.

    We serve an amazing God!

  6. beautiful, is that a robin egg? i have seen one like this before, empty shelled

  7. “…Look, Daddy…”

Although I think of myself as a John Wayne, guy’s guy, “Remember the Alamo,” “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead,” “Win one for the Gipper,” “I’ve just begun to fight,” “Smile when you say that pardner,” “Geronimo,” “Let’s play two today,” “It ain’t over till the fat lady sings,” type of man who spits a lot and snarls much, I also think of God as my Daddy and I’m His little boy.

Great! Awesome! One of your best poems ever.

  8. Debbie, the greatest possession we can present to Him for his use is ourselves and being a living sacrifice for His glory. Thanks again for such consistently Scriptural postings… they do uplift me everyday!

  9. I don’t want to miss out either, sweet Mentor Angela! As much as I can, I want to bring it all before Him, my entire day, and just listen and ask over each part of it. 🙂 He knows things! haha!
God bless you and and your love of Him!

  10. God bless you, Terry, as you come to Him today! Yep, it’s a robin’s egg. I found it out on the ground and no nest in sight. I brought it to my daughter who then has kept it warming, to see if it will hatch. 🙂 Love and prayers for your day, in His hands!

  11. 😀 Larry . .. one of your best comments ever! 🙂 God bless you as you show Him all you’ve got! Go ahead, empty out the pockets.

    Amen.

    “…I’ll run with it
    to show You
    just what I’ve found.”

I find that my treasures only become real treasures when I give them over to Him. In my hands, they are mere dust and wind… His hands are what make the difference.

    Blessings,
    ann
